Adrian Sutil rejoins Force India

However I do think without his excellent qualifying lap + good tyre management & race pace, without a doubt Williams would not have won. I have always supported him since his rookie season in 2011 & I'm looking forward to a possible win in Monaco from him some day. I can't believe how badly he started the 2012 race though. He smashed into the back of Glock on the starting grid before he even got through the first corner, he makes some manouvers some time that just leave you scratching your head.
Anyway, I'll stop being completely off-topic now.

To be fair to both Hulkenberg and Perez, Hulkenberg's chance of winning Brazil all but disappeared when the safety car came out when he was in the lead trying to create a gap. Perez made a mistake yes, but I think that radio message he got from the team ("be careful Checo we need this position") was coded for "do not overtake the Ferrari". That is only speculation though and could possibly be considered as a conspiracy-theory.
As for Maldonado's win, a lot of factors played into his hands. He was gifted pole because Hamilton got demoted down the grid, then went on to win without a single overtake (unless you count him passing Alonso while he was in the pits).
Don't get me wrong, Maldonado is probably my favourite driver, but he didn't win that race on merit alone.
oh please don't reimind me of this... imagine why

He overtook Raikkonen for the lead, although Raikkonen had much older tyres.
Oh, c'mon. He was the fastest man on the race day. He wasn't gifted the win by retirements, changeable conditions or whatever. The only bit of luck is that McLaren have screwed their qualfying result. But since it was their fault, Maldonado and Williams were the best package on merit that weekend. If his win wasn't on merit, then 80% of races aren't won on merit.

I wonder if Adrian Sutil keeps performing as he currently is, if he will be picked up by a top team for 2014 or 2015.
Maybe he can join Merc or Reanult ;)

LOL. Sorry for reffering to the off topic. Maldonado was consistently building his gap over Grosjean during first 3 stints and that counts for nothing because Grosjean set the fastest lap? And where are other of those many inconsistencies?Gran Premio de España 2012

As for Sutil. I'm glad that he is back and I'm not surprised by how is he performing. I always rated him high, since 2007. For some reasons I don't think his driving was appreciated enough in the previous years. He definetely deserves to be here on merit. I'm a bit surprised that Q3 didn't went a bit better for him, I always rated him as a stand-out wet weather driver. But that's it with wet circuit, you can't always have the car working very well in this kind of conditions.
I wish he had been chosen over Senna by Williams in 2012.

It is interesting to see that Bianchi is also performing well. So far, it looks like the right decisions were made in the silly season.

Don't be so sure. Aside from today's race, which was a damn good one for Sutil, Di Resta has had the measure of Sutil all season so far. Even after poor qualifying session, Di Resta went from 17th to 9th.Great drive, only his second race without any bad luck and again easily in the points. Without all that bad luck he'd be ahead of Di Resta in the championship for sure.

He managed to get to 9th with help from the SC, and drivers going out in front of him. His very early pitstop helped a bit as well, he might have had to do a two stopper if the race wasn't red flagged, so he had a lot of help today.Don't be so sure. No, Di Resta is closer to Sutil than he was at the end of 2011, but the upper hand on him? Hmm, not really.

That's true, aside from Vettel and Webber, Di Resta gained the most from the safety cars and red flag today. I doubt we'll convince each other who'll edge out who, but the pair of them are certainly one of the closest pairings on the grid.He managed to get to 9th with help from the SC, and drivers going out in front of him. I'd say they ARE the closest pairing on the grid.
Sutil's passes today were good but so were di Restas.

Out of interest, who would occupy the other space in your team to partner Sutil? If I had one space in my team I'd pick Sutil, other than I think he's the better driver, I sure would not miss Di resta's bitching.

From his nick, you would think Hamilton. But maybe that wouldn't be a good combination considering the break down in their relationship.

I agree di Resta seems to have had the edge so far this season but then he seems to usually fade in the 2nd half of the season and of course Sutil is just coming back after time out of racing. Anyway great drive from Sutil today.

So i'd be going with that to suggest they are extremely close on their ability and pace.
Another thing that was picked up by sky commentary a couple of races ago in regard to DiResta sounding bitchy, its not really that, he just sounds more aggressive in his delivery, and that Sutil is just as demanding but always sounds polite so the FIA Team Radio arnt interested in playing back anything Adrian says.

I was just thinking: Sutil in the second Lotus. I don't think he would be as fast as Kimi, he would be as fast as Grosjean... but then without the crashes...the ideal number 2 driver...

Well done Sutil. However one question lingers, does he have an F1 career outside Force India? His life story isn't particularly exotic, neither is he young nor have a clean criminal record. However I'm happy to see him F1 over a mediocre rookie.

I suspect, though, that Sutil is going to end up as one of those drivers that you would have liked to have seen in a really top car just to see what they were capable of, but never had the chance to do so - cf. Pierluigi Martini; Gabriele Tarquini; Takuma Sato; Jos Verstappen [yes, I know he had a crack in the '94 Benetton but that was far too early in his career].

Two more examples of the hatred towards PdR on the www that I just can't fathom. Although in one of the above it sounds like a general dislike of all things Scottish.

I'm glad to see Adrian doing well, even a year as a "seat warmer" at Ferrari might show whether he truly has "it".

Pdr just annoys the **** out of me, don't have anything against the Scottish I might add, although I feel DC tries to hard to hide his accent these days
If it helps I couldn't stand Trulli either especially after his outburst post Brazil 09 at Abu Dhabi
