Someone asked how big TATA is, well Wikipedia states that they are ranked as the 39th most valuable brand in the world and valued at over $100 billion so the answer is BIG!

I agree that just because Karthakeiyan is a pay driver, people should not underestimate the skill and talent required to handle even a back marker F1 car.
I would say that it's even harder to drive a backmarker than a front-running car.

If Razia did not pay up, how would karthikeyan be able to pay within 2 days. Securing sponsorship with giant companies like TATA would go through so many levels of executive decisions. Unless talks were on for couple of weeks.

If this were an amateur competition, I'd be impressed....It does amuse me the amount or rubbish that is spouted by people who haven't raced competitively.
Karthikeyan may not be the elite in F1 terms but the guy is still a very very good racing driver and will possess car control that most people on here could only dream of. Classic case of people underestimating how good ALL of these guys are. Same happens in football all the time.

But they are not on the same talent level as the drivers that haven't had to bring megabucks to get near a seat. I know all drivers require money to progress through the junior ranks, but they backed this up with success. Not one F3 win in 3 years and an average performance in 50% reversed grid races against the weakest field in F3000/GP2 for a long time.
I'm not hating on them, just making a point that has doubtless been worded 50000 times before around here. They shouldnt be there is talent was the primary consideration in this sport, but that isn't how it works. Anyway massively OT so my apologies.
