It's gonna be chilly there! Should push the speed up quite a bit. Anyone know the current track record?

Hasn't trucks been 36 for several years now?40 is a full field for Nationwide, NASCAR shrank the field size for NW and Trucks, remember?
Good job on starting the thread. Assume I'm going to be AWOL this season.

Dumb question: Is it just the stream or are the cars pretty narrow?

He had to get out of it I think. Car was pretty squirrely.#42 in 29th. Yikes.
His practice pace this afternoon was pretty good though. Ended p7 after being p3 for a long time.

There are basically the same parameters as the K&N cars.Found a Fox Deportes stream of the NMTS race, although its not the best quality.

OK..maybe there is some hope then. I can't take another year of the JPM running in 30th place. He had to get out of it I think. Car was pretty squirrely.

OLB - I know your pretty upset at the Nascar.com site but I think I speak for everyone in saying we would miss your company this year. If your pissed don't give NASCAR anymore of your cash but still hang out with your buddies. For the love of God don't leave us alone with "jp". Also I hope you have fully recovered from your bike accident.

He had an exceptionally tight car, most of the first guys out did, I think went out just a couple cars after Kurt B clouted the wall w/ a tight car.He had to get out of it I think. Car was pretty squirrely.
No doubt the Hendricks motors have a bit more beans than their Childress' did.
As always though, the big problem w/ DEI/Ganassi crowd will be chasing the track.
Gonna be a lot of changes going on during this race, these cars will be nowhere near the same setups at the end than they will start with.

Sure, I'll still stop by the threads but I'm super busy with work this year, I didn't even think about NASCAR this week until about 7 pm today or so.OK..maybe there is some hope then. I can't take another year of the JPM running in 30th place.

Also, isn't a certain Landon Cassill in the Cup Race Sunday?

Two minutes after the finish of the Daytona 500 and they'd already switched to the Phoenix page, making it impossible to view the end results.I give up with the NASCAR site. Why have a site covered in access to videos and photographs but no means of viewing the results of practice?
Had to wait an hour for Jayski to update. Pure stupidity.
Anyhow. Biggest question of the weekend:
What are the odds on Cuz Carl seeing a checkered flag for the first time this year? They're already calling him 5-Time.

'cept for Smoke
Fair point, but he was brought up on dirt ovals wasn't he? His IRL time wasn't exclusive either, he ran Busch series events at the same time.

Apparently, there was a coolant leak in the #78 car that dropped water on the track and under one of the tyres.JPM (29th) and PSP (40th) had evil-looking cars in qualifying, and Kurt Busch (25th) hit the wall on his second lap with a tyre issue. Aside from AJA (I notice the Fox team mentioned his Indycar test and implied he might race both series), all of the ex open-wheelers were near the back of the field.
