i think it was good to a have an asian from a a country that is very new to F1 rather than having most of drivers from europe esp. from england , germany , italy ,brazil , france

Who?

He wasn't really a backmarker with personality like many over the years.

I'll miss Glock, but only because he was better than Grosjean.

Races are moving away from Europe, but drivers are becoming more Euro-centric :p.

For me it always added an international feel to F1 seeing names from other countries. It'll be even more weird this year without a single Japanese name on the grid.

Yep, much more than likes of Kobayashi or Glock. Driving wheels off most hopeless car ever he deserved some respect.His short run in 6th place in Malaysia was a miracle of the season. I don't understand why Sutil came back, he's finished his business already. Narain deserved his big chance.

You mean the big chance he had in 2005 and 2012? Good thing he's out. He is not on it so let someone else have a go please.

I remember him talking in his Jordan time, to a Dutch reporter. The reporter asked;
"So, two or three stops tomorrow?"
On which Narain, wielding a big smile, replied in terrible English;
I don't know.
You don't know?
I don't have to tell you.

:p
That's what I remember Narain from. Not some onboard videos.

I'm gonna miss the Team bosses of the front guys speaking about him through gritted teeth. That was always amusing. I like him, seems a nice guy.

Seriously what's up with all the hate for Narain? I mean he did achieve more than most of you armchair expert will ever do in your life time, driving in formula 1.... I smell a lot of jealousy here, most of you poor souls filled with hatred would have looked far worst in a f1 car than him, common man like me and you would have been at least 20 to 25 seconds down on most of narain lap times, so I say, stop the hate... Anyways he is out now, so it like beating a dead horse don't you think????

Peace....

Im not quite sure what's worse. The fact your completely wrong or the fact the thread was made. It's like being upset at the departure of Alex Yoong.

Never said he did , never even mentioned talent, but still a back marker in f1 is still in f1. The man may not have set the Motorsport world on fire, but he still raced in f1,formula Nippon, Macau, NASCAR, on some of the best tracks in the world. Its much more than the average member of this board and probably all of his bashers/ haters... Now to answer the o.p question, will I miss him, I don't know, maybe not, but that's not my point...

It has little to do with Alonso's position in Malaysia and much more to do with the championship. Vettel lost P4 in Malaysia due to Karthekayan's driving. P4 is 12 points. Add in his 13 point lead over Alonso pre-Brazil and he would've won the championship before the last race, completely disregarding Karthekayan blocking him in Texas.

Actually, the OP is the only person I've ever known to be a Karthakeyan fanboy.

If you read his previous posts it's plain to see. I mean who else calls for the FIA to revoke a 3-time WdC's Superlicence for The Cucumber Incident?

... You do realise the Malaysia incident was Vettel's fault for moving over too early, right? In the same way as button too was at fault earlier in the race. And I'm fairly sure the stewards said that they would be a bit more lenient with the blue flags in Sector 1 in Texas because it's so windy :wave: anyway, that wasn't Karthikeyan's fault, it was because of these troublesome "stupid overtakes these days" :smoking:

By that logic Alonso was entirely at fault in Suzuka for moving over too early on Raikkonen, right? Gosh people like you know nothing about F1. You know the stewards gave Karthekayan a penalty, right? And I said dismissing Texas, as in it's not even pertinent to the discussion because P2 there would've gotten Vettel the championship.

Can't say I'll miss him at all.

Got in everyone's way a little too much when getting lapped ever since he came back to Formula 1 after Jordan, I was always shouting at him to get out of the way when he kept blocking other drivers.

Hopefully this will be the last we will see of him in F1.
