Hello I am searching for info about the Rallye des Alpes Françaises 1951 (or: Coupe des Alpes Françaises)
But Google does not give much results.
Does anybody know where to find the results and some pictures ?
I am especially interested in start nr. 112: a Dutchman called Tielens in his Delahaye, as I am trying to comply a list of all his races and a short biography.
Thanks for any help.

13th-19th July 1951 according to the entry list on Darren Galpin's site:

11th to 20th according to Martin Pfundner's Alpine Trials & Rallies 1910 to 1973 . But no mention of Tielens though.

Dates for major rallies will often be different because some include scrutineering the previous day and prizegiving the next day and some don't.
I don't think this forum has a silly ban on quoting/directing to other forums but there is no better place to ask than the Coupe des Alpes thread on the (French) Forum Auto.
(The French, as opposed to Austrian etc. Alpine Rally was the "Rallye des Alpes" until it became the "Coupe des Alpes")

At the risk of incurring more wrath, there is a suspiciously good copy of the 1958 Shell film "Coupe des Alpes" now on YouTube in 3 parts. Anyone interested in such events who has never seen it should.

According to MotorSport, he was 7th in the Over 3000cc class. No picture though

Thanks you so far.
I did check the French forum: all 84 pages of the photos coupe des Alpes topic but no result.
I'll try translating my request and post it over there, and see if something comes up.

The event was decided by performance on six days of road sections. Ten penalty points for every minute late. No penalty points meant a Coupe des Alpes. There was no overall winner of the event; but ten Coupes des Alpes. Tielens' penalty points were:

12-13/7/51 Marseilles - Milan (711kms) 80 points
14/7/51 Milan - Cortina d'Amprezzo (395 kms) 40 points
15/7/51 Circuit des Dolomites (303.8 kms, starting and finishing in Cortina) 70 points
16/7/51 Cortina d'Ampezzo - Innsbruck (396kms) 0 points
17/7/51 Insbruck - Chamonix (705 kms) 270 points
19/7/51 Chamonix - Cannes (679 kms) 80 points

total 540 points, seventh of seven finishers in his class.
