Welcome to the 2013 edition of GP2 Two Worlds Prediction Competition! We're entering on a new season to challenge one more time on your accuracies about GP2 Series results. The constant renewing of the series will give us a great spectacle that surely will impress all us.

As usual, GP2 TWPC will be opened to users of eight forums: we're proud to mantain almost all the forums which were involved in the 2012 edition: Autosport.com, CarAndDriverThef1.com, ClubF1.es, F1Latam.com, F1Revolution.com, Los-Tuercas.com.ar, Nextgen-Auto.com and Ten-Tenths.com. Also is opened in Twitter, where you can enter in the account @gp2twpc

The Competition will mantain two championships: one for individuals and other for forums. On Forums Champ, each forum gathers the points scored by their users but, this time, will be a sort of handicap, while only best four forum scorers will sum for their forum each round. Nonetheless, more forum users in a round increases the possibility of a high forum score. If concursants send their predictions via Twitter, this social network will count as another forum.

More details could be seen at the Rulebook of the 2013 GP2 TWPC that is below.

Well, the green light has turned on, the Competition has started!

Here it is, the

RULEBOOK OF THE 2013 GP2 TWO WORLDS PREDICTION COMPETITION

Overview

This GP2 competition is opened to all users of social network Twitter and eight forums: Autosport.com, CarAndDriverThef1.com, ClubF1.es, F1Latam.com, F1Revolution.com, Los-Tuercas.com.ar, Nextgen-Auto.com and Ten-Tenths.com, challenging all them about their accuracies in GP2 predictions.

Round to round, which can aboard a GP2 weekend or a special GP2 event, the concursant could enter their predictions in a period of time before that weekend or event happens. A small lapse of time after each round, the results will be processed and published, both in a round report and a Excel tablesheet.

Each round will have a winner, and the sum of all rounds will give us a champion. There will be mentions for each best forum scorer, but there will be only one champion, who will be remembered with all deserved glory in our Hall of Fame.

Is important to remark that each forum user represent not only themselves, but the forum they used to put the predictions. Then there is too a forum championship, where each forum scores in each round the sum of the results of all their users. Championship norms of both championships will be same as in users championship, but in this case it will be the forums that will go to a quest for glory.

How to enter

Before GP2 season, there will released the first round and a special Championship round, described later in this rulebook; they'll have defined opening and closing dates, and in the period of time between them, all users of the forums involved in this Competition can post their predictions.

During GP2 season, each round will be opened twelve days before the GP2 weekend, except in the case of two GP2 rounds on consecutive weekends, where the opening will be seven days before. During this time, all users of the forums involved in this Competition can post their weekend predictions, until the day of the qualifying of the first race.

In both cases, the deadline will be set at the time when starts the first practice session of the day when the round closes. You could check opening and closing dates in the calendar posted below this rulebook.

You must all make sure to post your predictions in such a manner that we can understand who you are picking for which position. If we have any doubt whatsoever, your prediction could be partially or totally annulled. Above all though, this is a fun competition, so we will do our best to contact you if we are in doubt over who you have selected, and you will then be given the opportunity to clarify your predictions, ever before the deadline of the round where that happens.

After posting your entry, you have the opportunity to revise your choices before the close of a Competition round. Please make it clear in any additional post (at Ten-Tenths) or edited post (at the rest of the forums) on the thread that you are revising your choices.

If you are unable to post your picks in the predictions thread for technical problems, you can send it to me via e-mail to this direction: gp2twpc@yahoo.es. If you are going to be absent, and thus not be able to post your predictions during the period when a round thread will be open, you can post your predictions in advance, either put it expressly in a previous predictions thread, or send it to me via PM or email. In all these cases, received predictions will be posted on the respective round thread by the GP2 TWPC Admin as soon as possible after their reception. Users are not able to post predictions in name of other concursants.

Finally, a note about GP2 weekend predictions: when a concursant predicts a driver who left his seat, in the predictions usually we will consider the car he had raced, no matter who drives that car. There is one exception: when the driver who left his car goes to another team to drive with their car.

Predictions, Point Scoring and Results

In this Competition, normally you have to predict all the items of each GP2 race weekend that reward points: the Qualifying Pole, the top 10 results of the first race, the top 8 results of the second race, and the fastest lap scorers of both races. To ease predictions, you can abbreviate second race ones putting simply the word "FORWARD" (same top 8 of first race) or "REVERSE" (reversed top 8 of first race); remember to add the Fastest Lap scorer of Race 2 after the key word, in that case.

In the race results, you got one point per driver correctly predicted, or two in each case this driver finishes in the position you predicted. In the pole and fastest lap scorers predictions, you got one point for each item correctly predicted (one for poleman, one for Race 1 FL scorer, one for Race 2 FL scorer). Fastest Lap scorers will be considered those who win championship points for this in the GP2 Series.

In addition, before the 11 rounds about each GP2 weekend, there will be one special round before the GP2 season, about the top 10 drivers and top 6 teams in the final standings of the 2013 GP2 Series Championship. Point scoring of this round will be alike race result predictions (2 points for each correct prediction in correct position, 1 point for each correct prediction in other position than predicted).

When the races/events involved in each round are finished, the results will be processed in an Excel sheet specially prepared to calculate them, and released in a result report; all in a period up to 72 hours after the definition of each round. You can access to the Excel sheet at this web address: http://perso.wanadoo...2013GP2TWPC.zip, but usually you'll have this link with each round result reports.

All round results will be based on the official GP2 race and championship results announced on the official GP2 Series website, gp2series.com.

Forum Matters

Each forum user represent not only themselves, but the forum they used to put the predictions. If you're present in more than one forum involved in this Competition (like me, Mekola) you must decide which forum you'll represent. In my case, I'll be marked as a Los Tuercas forum user.

In case the forumer want to change forum representation, the change should be announced to GP2 TWPC Admin, with the exception of force majeure, in case that forumer can't write again in the forum he used to represent. All points that forumer scored before forum change will belong to the previous forum represented.

For identify reasons, forum users could be marked in two forms: his name followed by an abreviature put in parenthesis -User (##)-, in forum reports, or written in a certain colour, in Excel sheets. There are the identify codes:

Autosport: User (AS) or red
ClubF1: User (CB) or dark grey
F1Latam: User (LA) or dark yellow
F1Revolution: User (RV) or dark red
Los Tuercas: User (LT) or dark green
Nexgen-Auto: User (NA) or dark blue
Ten-Tenths: User (TT) or blue
Thef1: User (TH) or orange
Twitter: User (TW) or turquoise

Championships

There are two main championships on this Competitions: one for users and other for forums. On the first one, the users championship in each stage there will be round winners, and the sum of all rounds will give us a champion. But it could be more than one user with most quantity of points. Then, in case of tie, the break will be defined by the most points scored in a round, if the tie persists the tie-breaker will be the second best point scoring, if it still persists it will be the third best point scoring... until the champion arises.

There is too a forum championship, where each forum scores the sumatory of the results of their users but, in order to favour forums with less quantity of users, it will be imposed a "net point" system where only the best four scorers will sum for its respective forum during each round. Nonetheless, more forum users involved in the Competition tends to increase the possibility of the forum to have a high score.

Both users and forum championship are fun competitions to and it gives no material prize for the winner, only the glory to be the one who did the best profit of knowledge about GP2 Series, and the right to be immortalized in our Hall of Fame.

Conclusion and Acknowledgements

This is a fun competition, that gives forum users the opportunity to improve their knowledge about GP2 Series, and know the possible F1 stars of the future. If you have any problems to understand Competition rules, you can send your inquiries via e-mail to: gp2twpc@yahoo.es.

Note about Twitter

You could put a complete prediction in 140 characters! How? Using the three-letter code for each driver. An example of a race prediction is as follows:

@gp2twpc P: NAS R1: CAL LEI NAS HAR CEC PAL QUA COL ERI EVA / CAL R2: ERI COL QUA CEC PAL NAS LEI EVA / COL

Where "P:" means Pole, "R1:" Feature Race or Saturday Race, and "R2:" Sprint Race or Sunday Race. The driver after the slash in each race is the fastest lap scorer.

For Championship Predictions, prediction is as follows:

@gp2twpc 2013: CAL LEI NAS HAR CEC PAL QUA COL ERI EVA / AR DA RE AD TR HI

In this prediction, top 10 of Drivers Championship is marked in a three-letter code, whilist top 6 of Teams Championship is marked in a two-letter code after the slash.

Codes of teams and drivers will be posted in the information posts about the series.
