Are there any good color photos of John Wyer out there. I have searched all of my books and all I can come up with are black & white photos.

There's some grainy color film footage of him being interviewed in this video.
The first segment starts at about 2:30 into the video, with other clips interspersed at various points following:

Is he any less of a Grizzly Bear in colour, than he was in B & W ?

Had I not made a very stupid error years ago, I could help you. A friend and I flew to Phoenix to interview and photograph JW (I was the camera man). We sat down with him and John Horsman in a quiet room, and the interviewer began. Not wanting to disturb them, I subtly reached down into my camera bag, pulled out the 35mm (film) camera, and started shooting. We moved outside and took more pics with a car then went to lunch and took a few more. On the plane home, I thought I'd take out the film canister. Gulp. The camera was empty! We talked about flying back to re-shoot, but within a month JW was gone...

Frank,
Too bad about the film. Is the interview any where to be read?

Sebring. Thanks ReWind. Some wonderful images in there of what - to my mind at least - was an utterly unique place.

What really amazes me is how it continued in it's basic form for so long. Some of the old pictures translate to pictures taken twenty/thirty years on. It is only recently that the place has been developed.

I don't know that's good, or bad - all I know is what I prefer.

(Edited for the third time thanks to Dell keyboard...or me). Sorry.
