Whatever.
43 cars on the entry list so please no one crash. No notable entries or sponsors.
Pre-race: 2:30est on Fox
Race Coverage 3:00est on Fox
Pay Attention Time: 3:16est on, uh, Fox.
I'm aero-tight so can't be bothered.

That's 'cos California has about as long a history racing "stock cars" as they do down south.Isn't that funny that Nascar is concentrated in North Carolina-Miami / East Coast - and the best drivers - IMO - comes from California / West Coast ?
Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Larson.

Put "uck" in a word and Andrew's mind turns to one thingNot too sure what a Fontucky is, it sounds dirty, perhaps too dirty to think about for very long.

For the record, as Los Angeles has started to become insular and urbane, they've started to tag outlying communities as hicks and rednecks: "Lan-tucky" "Fon-tucky", etc.
The good part is civic pride and fighting back against long held stereotypes. The down side? With it also comes being afraid to drive/visit many parts even within the city and an attitude that nothing exists past a few block radius.
In short, it's becoming Manhattan-West (or San Francisco in the 1970's-1980's)

I am like, cosmopolitan and such.

I won't be able to see any F1 or Cup and NNS races this weekend, but I'll support Poncherello since Nascar is in California. That's 'cos California has about as long a history racing "stock cars" as they do down south.

ESPN and Fox were big on that. It gave them an angle. Especially since they know nothing of the Inland Empire. The Speedway folks, at least the ones after ISC took it over, ran with that. Penske never promoted the track that way. I wonder if they'd do "Big Apple" isht if there was a track 60 miles away in Connecticut or New Jersey? At least in the last few years they have stopped trying to pretend that the race takes place in L.A. or Hollywood. I would guess that they get more of the attendees from Riverside, San Berdo and the OC, than L.A. county.
To the broadcasters, Riverside International was "in the middle of the desert" (umm, no, ask Whitewater about the difference) and Sears Point was in "the Napa Valley" (umm, no, the Sonoma Valley. Every bit as wine oriented and even more historic, but...not a name that can impress the folks you want to impress.)
Or, when ESPN did Thunder from Ascot and Larry Nuber would go on about being "in Hollywood". Dude, you weren't even in Gardena, you were in a strip of land known as "The Shoestring", wedged between freeways, junkyards and a cemetery...all sitting on land reclaimed from a large slough that had a very unenlightened name.
Hollywood isn't even Hollywood.

I got two women on the go and I'm trying to keep them both happy without seeing them on weekends, i.e. RACIN' TIME! I couldn't have anything else on my mind.

It's a damn shame I'll be missing Larson's first NNS victory. Watch for the no-steering-wheel donuts!
Also, Paulie Harakka is back *crickets*
Andrew good luck with your double-duty and managing to watch the race. But if Delana Harvick can pull it off, so can you champ.

Avg start of 29.8(so close!) finishing 27th.
But it's an improvement on last year.

After Keselowski called her That 30th Place Driver© I've been tracking Danica's stats. No thanks goes to the criminally useless NASCAR.com though, you need to use www.driveraverages.com
Avg start of 29.8(so close!) finishing 27th.
But it's an improvement on last year.
So possibly later this year they might have a problem qualifying for the races when owners points for this year rather than last year come into play?

I think she qualified on points for Phoenix and possibly Bristol too but I'm not sure.
After Daytona she's been hanging around 40th place so not too impressive at the moment.

Anyway, today's Nationwide race airs live on Motors TV. As usual you get the full ESPN comentary (that means no Kenny "Caffeine" Wallace) but without the ESPN adds I keep reading about in here (and that I do not dare to check out on my own). In a few occasions, you can hear the commentators chatting during the breaks, IF you don't get the usual break wreck that leads to the much loved "while we were way...".

You lost me there, isn't ESPN using their own services?I wonder if ESPN will keep Nationwide on their stations after June when Fox officially takes over Speed channel. Wonder what that would do to the Motors Broadcast :/
I don't think Speed it has any impact on Motors TV. ALMS (which airs also on ESPN) DOES have an impact in which race get's shown live on Motors TV like in Bristol last weekend.

- Some long shots on the Williams suit (I wonder if ESPN is trying to persuade us that there is no such thing as Indycar/CART)
- JPM giving a camera man a hard time on a tank

I think you and Ross must be having some fun with each other, your description of the attitude(s) of LA area residents really is inaccurate.
