Stanley Michael Bailey Hailwood, MBE, GM (2 April 1940 – 23 March 1981

I put this on the motorcycle forum but maybe it should be here also,, and then I thought just how many motorcycle guys made the change to cars with any success or vice versa?
John Surtees being World Champion in both & which seems unlikely to be repeated in the future, but apart from Michael Schumaker has there been anyone else since Mike Hailwood
who moved from bikes to cars or cars to bikes in any class of competition?
Mike had an amazing career with both bikes, cars, F1 & sports & then back to bikes a decade later, & with success, has anyone else come even close or anyone who did this at all?

A terrible remembrance, but at least some recognition - not just here (of course), but elsewhere on the internet in the form of some quite wonderful old film footage.

A truly great man, revered by all.
