I fear that F1 as a financial instrument of interest on stock exchange, instead a love child similar to NFL for example is for some of those team owners unfortunately are spelling more and more disappointments in area of sporty-type organization. I have no illusion over that, and I really hope that Ferrari will lead the way out of this, because they are the only last team that seems to have racing sense left in them. Mercedes tried several years ago to bring incremental changes, but they were burnt badly by treachery within, thus their next step today might be very muted and neutral. I could see new players (VW, Japan, etc.) under a new flag try to make GP again what it was supposed to be, but that's some distance away. F1 has choices to make, which are either it will undergo radical changes on its own, or it will be forced into those from necessity. The farce and artificiality (DRS, tires, KERS, and gimmicks like that) have no permanency in true racing; at least I don’t think so).I've long lost any illusion that F1 is a sport, as opposed to a cynical money making and marketing exercise. I see no reason why this wouldn't happen
Will Mark Webber last the season with Red Bull? [merged]

A man that runs more during tasmania challenge than me n month, has awesome jaw, sharp answers, insanely funny mimic when pissed off, and most important he is from land down under and use MATE in almost every direct answer. How you can dislike that? F1 needs men that look alpha cause many young peps take example from them.
Totally top 3 with who I would like to grab a beer and have a talk
I'd absolutely have a beer & a yarn with Webbo. His autobiography will be a cracker too.

Why would Mark get fired for Vettel's indiscretion?I really can't see Mark being fired for today, since even without public criticism it was obvious what was happening on track. Only thing what I can see is that Mr. Dietrich orders that the team gets vettel in order.

Webber's been reported as getting the boot from RBR for several years now, but keeps getting re-signed. I expect it will happen again for 2014.

They better have a good reason to change that policy now.

I will say this: Vettel and Webber are no longer team mates in 2014, but will sit out 2013.

There is enough unsubstantiated rumors on this BB already; no need for me to add more to it. Actually, I thought that headlines are self explanatory, and considering OP in this thread...It's easy to post stories like that, without any real attributions.

I still hope that Grosjean will have shitty season and Webber will take his seat at Lotus.
Lotus would have then most likeable driver pairing in the F1.
No matter what you think about Mark, is he fast or slow, but his comments and press conferences are frickin brilliant. AND HIS MIMIC. OH JESUS.
If Grosjean struggles they'll give the seat to Valsecchi

Hopefully, I'm starting to get tired of Webber.
Totally agree, hope he just goes!

You think he hates Vettel so much that he is willing to jeopardize his own results to screw his teammate (a 4th time)?I think Webber will stay, he'll suddenly have an off if he's got Seb's world championship contender behind him in the last race though.

The main reason he is kept there is to make the team remotely likeable
Never thought of it that way but you know, it's true, imagine the team without Webbo, cold and steely.

Mark Webber will leave Red Bull at the end of the 2013 season according to a report in major German newspaper Bild claiming they have information that the Australian will not get a new contract with the team.
“There is no question whatsoever about Mark not continuing this season,” Neal told the Telegraph.
Beyond 2013, however, Webber’s future is much less clear.
Central to Webber’s management throughout his career, Flavio Briatore thinks the driver’s relationship with teammate Sebastian Vettel is now terminally broken.
Asked if one of them will leave Red Bull at the end of the season, the Italian told Rai radio: “For sure. I don’t think it can be fixed now.”
British journalist Bob Mackenzie agrees: “(Red Bull’s) next decision will be who will replace the Australian.”
Indeed, while Webber is this week surfing in his native Australia, Vettel on Tuesday was at work in the Red Bull simulator at Milton-Keynes.
McLaren’s Jenson Button – now the most experienced Formula 1 driver on the grid – agrees that the impact of the Sepang saga for Red Bull is “big”.
“Even if they sit down and discuss it, it is not going to change the outcome,” he is quoted by British newspapers. “What has happened is still in their minds. It does not go away.”
Spain’s El Mundo newspaper adds: “Vettel and Webber have never got along, but now a wide gap has opened up between them.”

mark Webber will get over it because he knows that vettel is protected so the only thing he can do is focus on driving.
vettel will get over it because he still thinks he did nothing wrong.

Id be taking Kimi from Lotus not Hulk from Sauber (cos i want Hulk at McLaren eventually) and Kimi has a few years left to run, he would be great for RBR marketing wise and his skills.
Depends on Vettel staying put. If Vettel stays beyond 2014 RBR is not in immediate need for finding a successor to groom and an old fart like Räikkönen might fit the bill. But I am not sure Räikkönen is available (at reasonable price).

I hope they put a fast driver in the car for next year. Sadly it looks like Hamilton is firmly in the Mercedes now. Kimi would be a blast, and he'd be able to fit the car due to Webber's large size.

well if Webber leaves I hope they take Hülkenberg or Sutil, they are the best atm in midfield.... imo... their Torro Rosso guys have in my opinion both not the package for top team...
I'd love to see Hulk alongside Sebi. He's too aggressive to play No2 and it would nullify any nationality/language question on bias. It would be electric.
Also I think it would force Hulk to cut out the mistakes.
Let's hope. But I think Dietrich will see the likelihood of more explosions and go for a sweeter guy like Adrian, as a No2.

And if Webber still leaves / isn't re-signed that would help to recruit a good driver, surely, without that bias looming over them.
But it's been obvious for years that Red Bull is becoming a byword for unsporting behaviour so there's no reason it should change now, unfortunately. Quite weird though - all the success and so unpopular, yet nothing changes.

Right now, I'm not even certain he'll make it until then.
