Manfred: She told me Philippe is a Hand Full. They aren't very easy to find either.

At the Very Understanding Wives Market of course. :)

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jerry Entin for his yearly reporting on this great event. Jerry is providing here, an immense service to current and future generations, by providing documents and historical information that will now survive, instead of simply vanishing away. Jerry, you are great at it, thank you! Lucky that you did not get your head crushed in that Cheetah in the Riverside "esses" when it got into flying mode... :drunk:

If you live in SoCal and are missing these events at the RIAM, you should beat yourself with a baseball bat. These events are totally unique in that you can visit in a single place with dozens of the real heroes of racing in the early days of SCCA, USRRC and Can-Am, eat something a lot better than the usual rubber chicken, and generally speaking have a great time.
Many thanks to Douglas Magnon, a true enthusiast, who is spending much of his time and resources to put up these great events in his beautiful museum, to his girlfriend Evonne who is devoting so much effort to help him out, and to all the museum crew: Norma and Davey Jordan, Bill Losee, Morris Jephcott and all the volunteers, docents etc. who are simply the greatest and most friendly hosts.

As far as Bob Bondurant, he was a hoot with great racing stories and recollections. If anyone here believes he is "losing it", nothing could be further from the truth. His new wife Pat is not only a blonde bombshell but as sharp as a tack and a very experienced business woman, who is now greatly helping Bob with the racing school, while getting involved in learning every facet of the business including... driving the cars as fast as the boys. Bless both!

Mark it in your calendar for next year, the guest of honor will bring with him, serious and colorful racing history.

Nice to see you Jerry. Rich MacDonald is Dave MacDonald's son. He and his family, including Dave's wife Sherry were very involved in this years event.

I so very much wanted to attend but family matters took precedent. I spent so many hours standing at the fences at Riverside camera in hand. It was like a second home. Looking forward to Legends VI.

Cheers,
Kurt O.
