I've got Hamilton at 13-2 for the race, had him for Quali at 7-2 aswell.

Looking to back something else tomorrow but nothing screaming out at me as of yet.

Good work Wotto

Bottas was always going backwards in the dry but thought he might scrape points. Luckily I put more on Ham who drove great as usual in Montreal so was still 7 quid green.

I had a decent weekend albeit with smaller stakes than I blrew at Monaco

Hamilton to beat Rosberg in the race £5 at 7/10 (Won £8.50)
Alonso podium (after qualy) £5 at 4/7 (Won £7.85)
Massa points (after qualy) £5 at 8/11 (Won £8.63)
Massa/Button points double £1 at 17/10 (NO)

So £8.98 up

I read on forums that bet houses offer bets for who will take 2014 Red Bull seat. Can anyone share a link, please?

Currently Skybet and Coral take bets and Raikkonen is clear favourite
Odds are in decimal so this is what you get for £1 put in, Skybet first and Coral second

Kimi Raikkonen 1.20 1.25
Jean-Eric Vergne 9.00 9.00
Daniel Ricciardo 13.00 10.00
Paul Di Resta 11.00 15.00
Adrian Sutil 21.00 21.00
Esteban Gutierrez 51.00 67.00
Jenson Button 51.00 67.00

£65 on so far

£5 e/w Webber at 8/1
£5 e/w on Kimi at 8/1
£5 Ferrari highest scoring team 2/1
£5 WEBBER to beat Hamilton in the race at 1.85
£5 SUTIL to beat Perez in the race at 1.83
£5 ALONSO to beat Vettel in the race at 2.20
£5 Alonso podium at 1.55
£5 e/w Webber pole at 10/1
£10 di Resta to make Q3 at 10/11

may put £5 on Webber to qualify higher than Seb- will get around 2/1- always worth a punt at Silverstone
plus one or two more maybe

Just wanted to mention that Button has become second favourite for RBR seat according to Skybet.
It is a huge jump from 51 to 4.5 in odds.

Are there any betting rules/regulations preventing people within F1 betting on the sport? I've always wondered. There are rules in other sports to prevent it but I've never heard any mention of it with F1.

Apart from the obvious disappointment of Seb retiring, I made around £20 as the late race SC allowed Webber to get the each way part, Alonso a podium and Alonso to beat Vettel
Then Webber beat Hamilton (more thanks to Lewis' misfortune) and Sutil beat Perez easy. Also had a £5 teammate wars double on Bianchi/Hulk

Qualy was bad though, except di Resta making Q3

Vettel still 4/9 for the title, with Alonso 7/2. Mercedes could be worth investing on- seem to have sorted out race difficulties. Hamilton 14/1, Rosberg 33/1 and Mercs for the WCC may be a good bet.

As for Nurburgring- Hamilton at 5/1, Webber at 8/1 (he's 14/1 to get pole!) are defo worth a punt on. As usual, I'm not going anywhere near Seb- especially at Nurburgring!
Webber to beat Seb here- get on it before it gets reduced! I'd even go so far as to lay Seb getting a podium if you use Betfair or that sort of thing.
Force India drivers to get points and maybe also STR have shown an improvement- may be worth a top 10 bet

They must've tightened it up after Singapore 2008. You can obviously bet in play but I'm sure pretty much all sports have regs regarding betting on their own sport.
I was surprised a footballer was allowed to bet on footy though- just not in any competition they or their team take part in- so an Arsenal player could bet on the Championship (2nd tier) or a non league player could be on the League Cup

I like betting on qualifying, because usually, it's the best driver/car combo in a given condition which is the best who wins. Same for everyone- who is the fastest at a given time.

The race has so many variables and many things can go wrong, but on a qualy lap, you can mess up but apart from that, not so much.
Especially at Silverstone, a Merc 1-2 RB 3-4 was a very possible grid setup

I agree, I often put 5 on both pole and the winning car.
Although I like to look for rough-ish bets, I just saw both Ric and Jev paying over 2.0 for Germany, I think that is worth a punt and as for your advice on betting on Webber, I don't want to jinx him :p

Thus far for Germany

£5 e/w Webber to win 17/2
£5 e/w Webber pole 12/1 (16s available win only at sportingbet)
£5 Hulkenberg points finish 7/2
£5 Sutil Q3 4/6
£5 WEB v Vet (race) 10/3
£5 SUT v diR (race) 10/11

Kinda pinning it on Webber!

I put £10 on a Hamilton/Rosberg dual forecast WDC before the season started, at 125/1 I was gutted because the day beforehand it was 250/1
usually my crazy bets are thwarted mid season, but I actually have a little hope with this one, we'll see.

I've just found this thread. Earlier in the weekend I put a bet on Hamilton for the race @ 5.02 with Pinnacle and Hamilton for pole @ 2.5 with Pinnacle. Seems I got lucky with Sebastian's lap.

For the race:

Alonso for the win @ 14 with Betfair.
Massa for the win @ 90 with Betfair.
Massa for fastest lap @ 21 with Betfair.

I might weigh up other options but Ferrari will likely be the first of the prime runners, they have a beautiful opportunity especially if Hulkenberg, Button and Rosberg get ahead of Hamilton, Vettel, Webber and the Lotus drivers. Plus if they're leaving the options to last Massa has a fantastic shot of fastest lap.

I'll potentially trade in play when/if people get scared that the Ferrari are out front and going strong.

I'll let you all know if I decide to take any other options for tomorrow.

Thanks, I've had a look at Unibet and two bets in particular take my eye - both on the 'both cars to be classified' front.

I've taken:

Marussia @ 1.52
Force India @ 1.4

Reason why:

The implied probability of both Marussia's finishing given those odds is 65.79%. The actual probability based on this season's events is 87.25%, the only retirement from Marussia is Bianchi in Monaco due to brakes. The chances of the Marussia's getting caught up in accidents is pretty low given their positions on the grid so I'm willing to take this on. Their reliability has been fantastic in general and see no reason for this to change.

Force India have only had one retirement this year (if you exclude the exceptional Malaysia) and that was an accident with Sutil. The implied probability is 71.43% and they've both been classified in 6 of the 7 races (excluding Malaysia) which is 85.7% of the races so far. Of course the pressure of the home race could affect Sutil negatively but this is again value based on prior races this year so willing to take a swing at this.

In general reliability has been improving over the last few years so these both look like strong bets in my opinion

That's not really the case.

RB have stated the seat is between Kimi, Dan and Jean-Eric. Button has stated "‘The team will win a championship over the next few years and I want to be here for that. I want to help that team to achieve it. Jumping from team to team is not the right way to go racing." - That was only 7 days ago. Also there are many reports that Kimi has basically signed a deal (don't take them too seriously though).

I've recently taken quite a lot of money on laying Button @ 5.9/6. So basically £250 to win £50.

Vettel was odds on after FP3- if I could have laid him, I would've.
Put a 5er on qualy match bets- WEB v Vet and GRO v Rai. A bit peeved I didn't take Hamilton at 11/10 vs Rosberg though
Made a loss as well with Sutil out in Q2 but won a bit e/w on Webber at 12s

That's pretty nice. I'll put some up as well although the only thing that makes me a tiny bit nervous is why does anyone want to back Button when to the public's eye he has been ruled out. It's strange.. he had some action at Skybet as well.

Apparently Skybet are the ones who generated the price/rumour by making him so short. Just a tactic to generate some interest in the market I think.

Everything which has been said seems to rule Button out of the position so I pounced on the opportunity.

very!

Alonso now 6/4 for a podium. I went before the race last time and got 1/2... I thought I'd wait this week and now Alonso lines up P8, his odds have gone up lots.

Button points finish is 4/9 worth one bookie, 8/11 with another! I may take 8/11 with Force India not looking mega
Hulk as short at 1/1 yet up to 13/8 for a point.

Alonso 6/1 or Massa 10/1 to lead after 10 laps could be useful if those in front lose their tyres early. Kimi at 14/1 if he can stretch his softs out

I think the Ferrari's are strong for this. I don't think any of the leaders will stay on the tyres for more than 8/9 laps.

Although I have slated Grosjean previously, hoping he does well this race. Got odds of 40-1 for pole for him (which now are about 8/9-1), so hoping the temperature really ramps up and he can pull something out of the bag!!

If Vettel does miss out on pole these days, it's likely to Hamilton, so I may as well get paid to put up with it!
Hamilton 9/4 pole £5 returns £16.25
Also gone Alonso podium 1/1- £5
Grosjean win 7/1- £5
Team mate race battle (accumulator)- HSM,PIC,BIA,HUL at around 6/4 (£5)

Annoyed I didn't back Grosjean to outqualify Kimi at 2/1 (or an each way pole at around 16/1) and a qualy accumulator of PIC/BIA/HUL/HAM to beat their teammates

I refuse to back Seb but even so, 5/6 and Evens are way too short for me he's never had luck in the races here (2008 onwards always done worse in races than qualy) and Grosjean/Alonso are well placed.

If they did that i would hunt down Eric Boullier, purchase an industrial sized stapler, put him in the boot of my car, drive to a field of horses and then staple him to one of the horses.

Not that i'm thinking about it too much or anything...

$5 points for Button (1.7)
