Sad news; thanks for the update js. (Some of the news items are, I think, using photos of his nephew Pierluigi by mistake, confused probably by the Minardi link).

In 1976 Giancarlo Martini drove the Ferrari 312T entered by Team Everest (Minardi) in two non-championship events, the last private-Ferrari in Formula 1 history.

Sad sad news.

As discussed here he only started one F1 race, crashing on the warm-up lap for the other.

He did two more Formula 1 races winning one of them and suffering mechanical failure in sight of the finish line when fighting for the lead in the other one. :)

Great pictures, Alan - it is really incredible how much you forget. And then you see a picture, albeit very sad in this case.
