This is about car performance.
And no, no talk about discarded chassis from drivers.

Teams now have 2 races worth of data. I think it's obvious even for us mere mortals that there have been some hits and some misses. But as whole, im sure everyone has been crunching data with a bit more time. But is it really more time?
At this point some team(s) must be running full steam and trying to catch up on their performance.
Teams that feel they are in momentum must also be doing their best to keep that momentum. But will they slow their pace thinking they are out of reach?

Next GP is in China, too far away for updates? Is any team out there desperate enough to put together a whole new car for Bahrain?

So I put this for discussiom: Who will make the most of this break? And who needed this breather the most?

i think Mclaren will close the gap in performance within the next 1 or 2 races, however I think RBR needs this the most with their tire wear issues.

I think a cool down period is what Red Bull need. Mclaren also clearly needs a little time to develop their car.

Next race cannot come soon enough. The break is just killing whole civilization on this BB; Seb couldn't pick up for that stunt some better time? How evil of him.

Mercedes and McLaren. Gives them more time to unlock potential from the car.

McLaren might fix some of the problems of their car but the biggest beneficiary is Red Bull in my opinion. They can go back home and study 2 races worth of data to fix their tire woes. Also it gives them time to cool down the drivers.

McLaren benefits most - They are good if not best at in season development
Williams needs it most - Something went wrong since pre season testing. Time to sort things out

McLaren, Williams and Max Chilton. Bianchi has far more experience in F1 cars and it shows, Chilton will be able to study the figures and the comparisons, and using the experience of the last two races correlate the simulator and driving experience. Force India will be able to sort out their nuts, as will Red Bull...

It's there now, thanks.

Edit: It seems there is a overhelming opinion that Mclaren is in need of some serious homework.

I dont think a break is the best thing for RBR atm.... if they would be able to work together they could probably work things out easier....

but Sauber needs that break, obviously several things aren't right with that car

McLaren and Williams need it and at least in the case of McLaren it is likely that they will benefit and reduce the gap to the best cars.

Red Bull - On the one hand, some cool down time is nice. On the other hands, journos have lots of time to jump on Webber, Vettel, Horner etc. Actually, a race right in the next week would have been better from a PR point of view. The advantage of the longer gap is that there is more time to learn from the incident for everyone involved. RB will also benefit, because they now actually have some useful data to evaluate the tyres and work on the tyre deg problems.

I doubt there's any on track benefit from this short break, but Redbull could definitely use as much time as they can get between Sepang and China. I don't think a whole summer is enough to calm Redbull's situation. I'm truly hoping for some aggressive racing between the two, should be nice for fans.
