This is very sad news. He epitomised for me the 'old' Ferrari team that I used to love and support.

Oh no. A legendary Ferrari mechanic and a nice guy too.
I was talking with one of the curators of the Ferrari museum in Maranello and he mentioned that Borsari was a frequent visitor there.
Back in '67 at a race meeting I approached him for his autograph, he smiled and said "Non pilota non pilota...." Eventually I did get it, the autograph that is.

Sad news. I understand he had been frail for some time. Friends at Ferrari feel real loss. As a former Maserati factory team and Centro Sud mechanic Borsari was also valued highly. Sincere condolences to his family and many friends, and admirers.

Several years ago I was in the square at Marcello and saw a group of WWI soldiers from an Italian Mountain Unit having a reunion when I notice Giulio amongst them!

He was a very regular guy who to me epitomized the Ferrari spirit.

Sad news, a vastly underrated, but quietly effective man.

This is very sad news. Borsari was a thoroughly nice guy and a very competent mechanic because he was one of the few people that was able to cross the dividing line of the Via Emila and work for both Maserati and Ferrari. Generally speaking if you worked for Maserati on the north side of the old Roman road, the via Emilia which bisects Modena, you were never allowed to join Ferrari who were on the South side of it. Borsari straddled both. I had the pleasure of giving a talk in Vignola just outside Modena to a group of Italian enthusiasts alongside Giulio, Romolo Tavoni etc in 2011 where this photo was taken with Francisco Stanguellini on the right.
Giulio was always good for a story and he was a very special man

Borsari has been my Motorsports hero for over 40 years. I first met him at the Questor GP at the Ontario Motor Speedway in 1971. I stayed with his family in Montale a couple of times, and last saw him in 2008.

His passing is another great loss for the Ferrari world, one of the old guard to be sure.

Thanks to him, I got to meet Enzo back in 1978. (sorry I don't know how to post pictures)

RIP to my hero, and condolences to his Wife and Son.
