Pimped F1 cars

I did a Google search for this, as I think it would be rather amusing to see some F1 cars with massive rims, lights under the floor etc etc. I couldn't find anything though - has this ever been done, and are there any pictures?

Weirdos? Who wouldn't want to drive an F1 car on the road if they got the chance?

The Toro Rosso is in Australia. No way would that be allowed on the road. It has to be a PR promotion imo

I remember the engineers saying that it is not as fun as you might think. The car has to be miles higher then normal with softer springs and dampers but it's suspension is still much too low and much to stiff.

But I have a picture that has been uploaded in an internet piece already and below is the link to that page
http://8w.forix.com/...polis-1958.html
Go to the bottom of the page for the orange colored #24 Indy roadster.
I know, not an F1 car in the true sence of the word but this particular chassis: Kurtis-Kraft KK500-372 raced in a few indy 50's in the 50's when that race counted for the World chapmionship too. Does that count?
After its last event for which it was entered and failed to qualify (1959), the chassis was fitted with the drivetrain of a Truimph TR2 car and eligible for use on the road.
look for the turning lights on top of the nose.

Have you seen the state of British roads? I wouldn't want to drive one on the roads round here. The suspension would be ruined within ten miles.

A little bit like the old story with Caterham 7s : When you decide to buy one, the bad news is you will be needing to make appointments with the back doctor, the bank manager and the divorce lawyer - the good news being that you won't be late for any of them.
, i wanna pop to the shops in one of them f1 cars
