MK1 Rennmax

Here is my father Tony Alessi at Warwick Farm in 1967 in his MK 1 Rennmax,
he bought it brand new from Bob Britton and so was the first owner.
http://s660.photobuc...228964041590662
It took 5 years to find it and a few weeks ago CAMS confirmed
by the log book numbers that we had the right car, it's been owned by Bernie Haehnle
for a very long time and he was very kind as to invite me over to have a look at it,
I'd not seen it since I was 10 years old, a very special moment indeed.
Many thanks to Peter Finlay and Bryan Henderson who helped solve the mystery.
The list of owners and livery as follows..
Tony Alessi (Yellow)
Terry O'Neill (Blue)
Bill Christie (Blue)
Bryan Henderson (Chokito)
Phil Revell (livery ?)
Bernie Haehnle (Yellow/Black)
Amongst other things my Dad is a motor trimmer and used to trim the seats for Bob Britton
and Frank Matich's race cars and also did work for Terry O'Neill of GS Motor Bodies,
he is now retired and living in Goulburn but still has a sewing machine set up in his shed.
I've just bought a 1968 Lamco Vee from Phillip Dickerson in Melbourne and need some
help researching the first few years of it's life due to the log books being missing from 1968- mid 1973
more on that in another post.

I will be in contact....still has a sewing machine set up in his shed...
I raced against that car on numerous occasions but after Tony sold it. I'm sure you and Tony will be interested in this thread, if you have not found it already.
http://forums.autosp...howtopic=103232 I have posted a photo of Bryan chasing my Elfin 500,
I think Phil Revell had it orange.

Hi Paul, Great to see your mystery solved! Going by your photo the exhaust made it through to Bryan's ownership but somewhere between your dad and Bill Christie it had Standfast trailing arm pick ups fitted. It had the extra roll bar fitted around the Phil Revell time, the Ranger nose it has now was towards the end of his time. Bernies had it since 1981 being the car he had all those tv wins with becoming Mike Raymonds little buddy. Ther are heaps of pics of it on Bryan's Scanpix facebook page of it's Chockito life and Bill Christie's.Hi all this is my my first post here, I hope the image link works.

Bryan's facebook page was VERY helpful as it has logbook pics from 1968 showing this car with my Dad's #42 still on it
it also gave us a logbook number to work with.
The nose was then black due to previous race damage, from my memory an incident at WF but Dad says OP, perhaps there was more than one incident !
Autopics have a shot of Terry O'Neill at WF in it in 1971 and the roll hoop was taller by then. same pipes though

Good to meet you at Wakefield Park on Saturday, Paul. Gary Glover was chuffed to see you again, after all those years [was it 40?].
Thanks for showing us the Lamco Vee.......nice find.
Cheers,
Greg
Likewise Greg, I hope your Sunday races went well and thanks for dropping in....yep 40 years since I'd seen Gary, I was chuffed too

Yes, that Amaroo video from 1987 is excellent, I'm looking forward to Tasman Revival this year to see it on the track again.

Didn't the Chokito colours come with Greg McCombie?
Hi Ray,
Bryan definitely ran this Rennmax in Chokito livery
