In reply to Peter Smeets blurb. Pics of the Stillwell Escort in Peter Nightingale workshop some moons ago.Sadly Peter never got to finish the car owing to the rapid onset of MS,The drivers seat finished up in my Twin Cam. The Corolla that peter bought for the BDA and the sold on. I think Dave Meaker bought it.I bought it from a wrecker in Hacham. Rebuilt the car with a 13b PP [ex Peter Bail engine] close ratio 5 speed, twin plate cluch, etc. With 300+HP ,short wheelbase,it was a handfull. Got called back to Bougainville to take care of unfinished business so i sold the car. I believe it still is in the Reynella area.

Those two cars have had a few conversions.
Last I saw of the Escort Graham Hawke was fitting a 2 litre Ford. Owner was John Walmsley? From Brighton. Peter must have had it after.
The Corrolla was from Whyalla and my senile brain cannot think of the drivers name. Dave Olsen? I thought it had an FVA in it? Serge Deluca was detailing the differences Saturday but I forget what they are.
Dave Meaker raced it in the late 90s with I think a turbo 3t engine? The pics in white are when Dave raced it. Dave has retired to racing shopping cars now,,, Magnas!

The car in white livery is as i bought it. In the driveway after washing a mountain of leaves, dirt and bird droppings off it . Repainted red after total rebuild.

No. The Stillwell Escort was a very quick car in its day, developed with eventually a BDA and it played in the big time as a Touring Car and later Sports Sedan.
The pic with Graham Ritter, it may be the same car but it only has a rollbar not the full cage it had later.
Remember we are dealing with a car that came from a very major Ford Dealer. Stillwell Ford.
