Hi!

well, this is quite a late decision, but my premier source of information fell quite silent, I regret...

Instead of visiting the GP in Barcelona, we now chose Goodwood for this year's first motorsport weekend-trip. I believe we are quite late to get a good room for the weekend (Friday to Sunday is the plan...) and the flight (which will bring us from Zürich to London).

Is there any hope to find some decent-priced accommodation? Any help would be appreciated!

It all depends on what you mean by "decent priced accommodation." As you've probably already found out, prices in the area can be seriously steep for the Goodwood weekends. The usual rules apply that the farther away from the event you are, the lower the prices get.
Chain hotels in Portsmouth are still pretty expensive, but there should be cheaper B & B's around. You could try going farther out towards Southampton if necessary, because the road system is pretty good along the coast.

Thanks a lot.

We actually found a B & B not very far away. AirBNB helps.
