Lister-Bristol VAU 850

I am sure someone out there will know something about a rare Lister-Bristol with registration number VAU850 It was one of the cars with the folded-in rear fins similar to the Jack Sears car. I need the name of the first owner.

No. I think I have original reg numbers for all that-shape Lister, and VAU850's not among them

If you'd posted the photo without comment I would have said the driver was Jack Sears...

Might the number have been changed?

I agree it looks like Jack with the dark helmet and it could be. The photo was actually taken by Bob Gerard who sadly is no longer with us.
Interesting mystery however.

Have you asked Brian Lister ?
He is a neighbour........I chatted to him in Waitrose yesterday
His memory is quite good for an 86 year old.
