There was a great comparison replay between one of the Audis and the 7 Toyota into Stowe, the Audi was hitting the bumps quite badly too, but not as badly as the Toyota, the 7 car was porpoising like crazy.

The Audi just looked supreme in the corners, the drivers didn't have to be so aggressive on turn in unlike the Toyota's who had to really yank the front into both Copse and Stowe. The Rebellion cars were just as stiff at the front (but very soft in roll on the rear) as the Toyota ones, even lifting the inside wheels in the fast corners.

For £35 that was a really good day, decent crowd turnout as well, so hopefully this will be the start of something big for sportscars in the UK!

Danardi, You make it sound like a new event??? I doubt it will increase in popularity unless they have more manufacturers enter...with works entries, I've been a few times in the last few years and when I asked my friends who are more casual race fans, they asked what was racing and when I said the le mans Audi and pug, they said is that it? Can see their point... Sad situation!

From what I saw of the new Lotus LMP2's... they were pretty good... though it was pretty funny seeing the #31 running around with it's door open early on.

You mean like this...?

I don't mean to, I meant in context of it being part of an FIA championship that has massive potential to grow.

I don't think that being part of the FIA championship will help them if i'm honest, it's not a particulalry big deal for the manufactureres anymore, the first thing that happened when it was announced that the WEC was being granted FIA status, Peugeot pulled out... I'm afraid that as much as I have always preferred sportscar racing, the current prototype categories cars leave me cold and the decision to merge the ALMS with the cost saving Daytona ugly brigade really doesn't help matters for a having a unified world championship...

You think Peugeot pulled out because the FIA announced the WEC?

Precisely, Peugeot Sport were among the leading organizations that were pushing for a World Championship... until the PSA accountants pulled the rug from underneath their feet.

No not at all, badly phrased on my part. However, they didn't reconsider in the slightest, at the suggested increase in exposure because of the newly granted FIA status of the events they had been running previously, sportscar racing doesn't have wide appeal to manufacturers from a marketing perspective currently...

Bruno Senna, plus Kamui Kobayashi in the background holding the 2nd place trophy (and champagne). Good for them.

Good event, although again weird how few grandstands Silverstone opened. Only International, Village and National opened fully, part of Stowe and Lakeside a slither of Club, Becketts and Woodcote. If it had rained, would have been a real crush, although I was amazed how many people were stood watching at times through the multiple fences, when there were grandstand spaces available.
