Some stuffs for tomorrow:
-Lewis/Fernando/Kimi/Rosberg/Massa/Romain will pit just after 5-7 laps, Vettel and Co can make it last till about lap 15.
-Kimi could be the best on the softs, Alonso will struggle more them him, Lewis even more, so Kimi can leapfrog the Brtion right on the track before the first stop
-Vettel could lead the race, vut since he starts on medium, he won't be able to make a two stop strategy
-Kimi and Co can get back onto the track in places 6-9 after their first pit stops, so they will need to overtake the people starting on medium as soon as they can not to let Vettel rush away with a reasonable lead

will see about that bolded part...at melbourne and malaysia teams predicted early stops as well but tyres lasted better on race than expected, pirelli predicted yesterday that softs will last 12 laps and mediums 18 laps. Kimi did 7-8 laps run with competitive times yesterday without significant drop on pace and track will be better tomorrow, so he looks strong for the race.

I think Kimi has a great chance to win this starting from P2.

Edit: errors

Whoever can make the softs work will have a huge advantage over everyone else - and Kimi is the favorite for exactly that. Lewis is the one whom I am hoping to win but the car simply doesn't get along with the softs. Hopefully he has been overfueled so that he can compensate for performance on the softs but absolutely going for it on the mediums.

Isnt Force India complaining about Kimi ruining Sutil's lap in Q3? That could change things further if true.

I made some research. The average lap time on soft from Firday (first 5 laps):
-Vettel 1:46.6
-Alonso: 1:44,76
-Rai: 1.43.5
-Rosberg: 1:45.1
-Hamilton: 1:45.5
-Button 1:44.8

Stint on medium hard to predict, cos it massively varies from fuel level (some teams did stint on medium at first, then on soft, other teams the other way around), but later on I will do some other research.

Alan Permane from Lotus said they are really confident in their strategy and they expect a podium at least.

It was in Q1 and Sutil got in the Q2 so it changed nothing. I don't think they will complain.

Vettel would win. I can see how the front runners would survive more than 7 laps on heavy fuel and cooler temps. By the time they pit Vettel would be leading while the fornt runners struggle to overtake the midfield Vettel would have clear air and pull out faster times. When Vettel pits for fresh softs and empty fuel he would be going 2 - 3 seconds a laps faster than the front runner on old mediums.

Will be an interesting race. The medium rubber drivers will suddenly pop up after 8 laps and anything can happen after that. Looking forward to it

Well some of the surnames are pretty difficult to spell, like Hûlkenberg so it's easier to use snappy names like Kimi, Nico etc. sometimes. At least that's what I do.

it's Hülkenberg ... quite easy really Ü like Überaschungsei :o.... then again you probably don't have a german keyboard where you have Ä, Ü and Ö as extra keys

You don't need to have a german keyboard to do this.

See:
ä, Ä, ü, Ü, ö, Ö,

it's very easy

I reckon Lewis can win it, I saw that he's been balancing the car with weight in the bib to protect the left front, plus overtaking will be key. Kimi can be good on the tyres but he's short of downforce, so I think he can only look after the tyres by being slow.

But it can go for or against anyone so easily - one lockup, getting stuck behind a slower car for a lap or two, a bad stop...

Mclaren has better pace than Red Bull. If it stands out that starting on mediums will give you a big advantage, I would not be amazed at a surprising Jenson's win.

LH has got very astute at managing expectations, it may also be the reality of the situation:

Pole position is a great result for us today and to achieve it in my third race for the team is such a good feeling. Everyone's been working really hard. It would be great to convert the position in the race tomorrow but it's going to be a challenge and we're realistic about how tough the race will be. I'm looking forward to it and will give it my all.

I agree. This race is Kimi's race to lose really. I think we will some good battles out there between lewis, kimi and alonso.

Why?

I asked this last race when everyone said Kimi was going to walk it, and I was proved right, it was a presumption with Kimi no where. With these tyres anything can happen.

Was he on the front row though?

He usually never qualifies this high, Lotus is almost always stronger in race than qualifying.

I voted for Fred although I think they chose the wrong strategy by going out in Q3. The reds are tough on tyres. If they put the softs on in the last stint they would last longer due to the rubber laid down during the race.

Loads of rubber has already gone down, and the law of diminishing returns is probably going to come into play. Softs will struggle no matter what.

I'm sorry, but Mclaren just do not have the pace of the Red Bull. Even if Button inherited the lead at some point, the others would just gobble him up. He would need some serious luck, be it a safety car to be in contention.

People are forgetting Vettel is behind RIC and BUT, so his mistake mau cost him a lot if he's unable to pass them early to make his different strategy work...

You mean he's behind Button, Ricciardo will do everything in his ability to let him go by.

The talk off soft tyre degradation I'm finding a bit strange. eg:

Massa added that his Ferrari could have the edge over its rivals in Sunday's Chinese GP in terms of soft tyre degradation.

They will be on them for 6-7 laps, its medium tyre degradation thats going to be more important.

It's going to be like in AUS. People make a big deal out of the options, but they will last 8-12 laps.

And the leaders will come back right behind the best of the mediums - which I expect to be Vettel for sure and possible Button/Di Resta and Webber, by that time.

Kimi. Tyres are a joke, and he was the best on tyres in Oz.

Romain will probably destroy them and the Merc might lack race pace.

Softs on low fuel with five to six laps to go is probably going to be the best strategy - at least for MAC and RB.

What happened in Malaysia then?

It rained half an hour before the race in Malaysia resulting in a decreased track temperature by about 10C throughout the race. To top it off, they had the two hardest tyre compounds for that race too. That was why tyre degradation was not quite an issue in Malaysia.

Good news for the soft runners at the top is that Button and Vettel are very slow in a straight line and when it comes time for it, should be passed easily.

I think Kimi is favorite, but crossing my fingers for Alonso.

I think the Mercedes will do ok but wont have the race pace in the end to match the Lotus and the Ferrari.

Vettel maybe looking at top 5 best-case scenario.
