My next-door-neighbour is a Professor of Neurology and world authority on the disease and is currently doing amazing work in this regard.
He is leading the world with his surgery and operates on patients under a local anaesthetic during which he implants an electrical probe into the affected part of the brain. His patients are wheeled in with the terrible shakes, and walk out again a couple of hours later, tremor free. Amazing stuff.

Jack was a good friend, as well as my mentor.

My step-father (and W.O. Bentley's grandson) is severely affected by Parkinsons and it is incredibly sad to see his decline.

My father suffered from this dreadful disease back when poor Terry-Thomas was perhaps the best-known sufferer. Treatments have improved, as Michael J Fox demonstrates, but it is still a truly horrible condition to have to live with.

Great fellers, thank you - possibly a total waste of time but let's at least stir up a fuss... I do quite enjoy doing that.

An old flat-mate was diagnosed in his early fifties. He and his wife have coped so far, but know and fear what may happen to him.
