IIRC, there was an open wheel (Champ?) car a few years back that was painted to look like the Brazilian flag when viewed from above. The car was green with yellow around the cockpit, and the driver had a blue helmet. I've been searching for an hour now, and I can't find anything. Am I going crazy? Does anyone else remember this car? Do you remember who it was? Or when?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

A1GP perhaps? As the teams were 'national' entries.

Christian Fittipaldi's 1995 Indycar looked a lot a brazilian flag. Predominantly yellow helmet tho.

I remember this. It was Christian Fittipaldi's car from 1995. He was racing for Derrick Walker at the time. I think you've got the helmet slightly out though. :)

Wow. You guys are fast...

This is Christian Fittipaldi's car.

It's very close to what I'm remembering, but in the picture in my head, the yellow isn't quite as big, and the driver's helmet is blue. As I said before, my memory may be off a bit. I want to say that the car I'm remembering is a little more recent than that, post 2000 at least. But that's really close.

Well, 1995 was the first year I watched Indycar racing and I thought the two Walker Racing schemes that year were fantastic. Robby Gordon's Valvoline car is one of my all-time favourite paintjobs.

This was quite a few years ago, actually. It was Christian Fiittipaldi's first year in Champ Car racing in '95.

Yeah this one was basically in Ross' wheelhouse, send all American open wheel livery questions his way.

Glad to be late to the party on this one. I've been watching the scene in Boston. The good guys and gals won this one.

Now back to the thread.

A fair amount of North American open-wheel history can be found here......
