Herr Magoo:

As you have insider connections, will the next Ford Mustang be another crap-wagon Pintostang or will they stay with the successful retro style with size large enough for the car to be more than a two persons two bags of grocery
econo-box?

Going on history it will first have to get bigger and fatter. Then it will become a very ugly 4 cyl car that will then get a baby V8 so as to sell a few cars

The retro look is history, or so I hear. I am deliberately staying dark on it due to business considerations. I don't know this but the car is expected to have a big Ford trapezoid on the front like the other One Fords. The package size is largely constrained. It has to be big enough for a V8 but smaller than an F-150.

Just speaking out loud...all the Detroit OEs need to get off retro, bury it. The current retro Camaro, Challenger, and Mustang were fine in one or 1.5 iterations but now it's time to have an original idea and move on. Anyone who gave a sh*t about the original cars when they were new is now at least 60. Young people will not buy stuff that smells like old people.

Of the retro cars I think the Chrysler 300 easily wins the prize, as it combines retro features with a real road presence (I apologise for writing that). Nearer home the Commodore last gen update was very good indeed to my eye, 3 years on and despite being as common as taxis, they still look like a fairly aggressive lump of metal.

However they've blanded the 300 up with the redesign, inevitably.

I'm aka the VRod. But that's not an abandonment of something, that's a new introduction. Maybe I'm wrong but I'd think there will always be a market for V-8, RWD platforms if only for the next generations of semi or fully retired hot rod owners.

I really like the mustang and the camaro. my main concern is the huge weight they are at. 16-1700something kg is too much.

I like how they have angled the front. I think it looks very aggressive. But i don`t like the front lights not being in line with the intake. But it still looks very good. i also love the sharp front of the hood. nice little detail. They wherent so lucky with the front sidepanel. the line breaks with the front light angle.

But why they removed the signature double rear lights i don`t get. Luckily the new ones still look better. Also that Gourney/lip on the trunk is strange looking why not push it straight up from the edge of the trunk.. now it looks like a bad fit and finish job.
