I am arguing with a buddy about this. I don't believe any American built MC have ever raced in and actual WSBK race since the World Championship was inaugurated in, I think it was, 1988. The only bike that comes to mind is the VR Harly and I think that was only eligible for AMA races.

Before WSBK you had Rayborn on the H-D winning one of the Trans-atlantic match races and of course Villa on the Italian build H-D taking 250 and 350 cc Formula championships but I contend that in WSBK an American built bike has never even entered a race.

What do you all think?

only my opinion but american racing ended the day they put road bikes as the main event as the daytona 200 1985 and they put Freddie Spencer as the the side attraction on a full blown 119kg, 150hp missile as the daytona 100.

WERA where did you go, GP500s,250s some with nitros and 1300 turbo 4 strokes, dd someone mention real racing.

bring back open class racing.

get rid of controlled racing, things were fine before we "had to restructure"
