Hi everyone,
I need your help for some questions.

I have an 1/18 Exoto model of the Siffert's Lotus 49 at Jarama (1st attached image).

Did Siffert use the "air intake" (I don't know how to call the tube in front the windscreen) of the 3rd attached image during the race and why?
I've the Lotus 49 book (M. Oliver), but, maybe for my bad English, I haven't found an answer yet.

I'm trying to understand how the car was dirty at the end of gp, I'd like to make the model a little bit realistic.
Does anyone have any colored image during or at the end of gp ( withdrew lap 62 )?

Thanks.

Vale.

There's a photo in the Autosport race report which shows Siffert's car with the air tube fitted. The photo must have been taken during the race itself as it shows Siffert running closely behind Surtees and McLaren, which ties in with the race lap chart.
