Well, after many days of Sato celebration, it's time to talk about the next race. I contend that they just stop the championship now and declare Sato the Champ because it's not gonna get any better.

HOWEVAH!!! Just in case they decide to carry on let's get into the business of Sao Paulo. Genesis, play us in!!!

So where is Sao Paulo?

Good question! I am an American so I don't really know about places that aren't America. In order to figure this out I went to the local library and consulted an atlas. Lets take a look:

So there you have it. They will be racing in some place called Brazil, how exciting!

Why would they race in Brazil?

Posted Image

Because she lives there.

Posted Image

They also live there.

Sounds good! Have they prepared a track?

No. Sao Paulo is another street circuit, so people who planned to go downtown this weekend will be inconvenienced.

What's the track look like?

Like this:

Posted Image

The track is 2.5 miles long, with 11 turns. They will race 75 laps.

Looks good! Who's won there in the past?

This man:

Posted Image

He's won every year they have run it.

Who will win it this year?

Posted Image

Obviously.

What time is the race?

Sunday, May 5 at 11:00am EST on NBCSports.

Where can I watch it if I don't live in the USA?

No idea, not my problem.

Solid OP. This is usually one of the more entertaining races of the year. Looking forward to it.

Hm. I really don't have any predictions for this. I have no idea. It could go in anyone's favor.

I wonder what JP thinks.... He's out watching some superbikes go around some track or something.

I predict Will Power gets taken out in one of the inevitably numerous incidents that will occur in this race.

C'mon Takuma, ride on the momentum.

I'd say he'll be leading championship after this race, and no i'm not being bold.

Another win would be fantastic of course!

Fantastic OP. Great choice of music too :D

This year seems unusually open at the front so I hesitate to make any predictions, but I'm willing to say Power will finally be beaten at this track. He's probably due a good race this year though. Maybe a podium or top 5.

OK I'm going to say Dixon for the win, because why not?

Speaking of Takuma Comic Sansto, here's my favourite part of this year's race. Sato casually overtakes the two most experienced drivers in the whole world on a late restart with the sort of late braking that would make you use all sorts of Japanese WW2 terminology if you hadn't sworn off being a tiny bit racist while discussing motor racing.

Then about half the field manages to crash into each other trying to avoid the cars Sato's held up, causing yellow flag #376 of the race. And extracting a really classic example of the disingenuous "That's not what we wanted to see" from the NBC mouths.

Hey in the UK we've no idea either! Maybe ESPN UK if it lasts that long. Maybe the Sailing channel (don't ask!). Maybe some dubious stream with German commentary and ads for "Local Slags" (again, don't ask!). It's a mystery to us too :well:

Two, actually... we like boats!

Here's how NOT to do it:

Former Royal Navy officer denies flouting maritime law after crashing yacht into bright red 120,000 tonne tanker

Obviously he should have read the definitive book on the subject:

How to Avoid Huge Ships

Do read some of the reviews, they're hysterical ;)

Big issues from the last race!!

None of the big teams did well! No Penske or Ganassi cars in the top 3. What does this mean? Is AJ Foyt racing the new powerhouse?

Also,

Racism! As a black person I know that you should only pull the race card when the racism is very egregious. After watching several Indy Car races, it is time to pull that card.

The tires have been given some very disturbing names. 'Blacks' are the primary tires for the race while the 'reds' are the option tire. Throughout the race I was insulted as the announcers kept stating, "You know the BLACK tires are slower. Yeah Jim, that's correct, also the BLACK tires can't support a family." Clearly the folks who run the Indy Car series are not interested in getting Lewis "The Hammer" Hamilton, Bubba Stewart, or Darrell "He's Gonna Be A Name" Wallace Jr., in the series soon.

Disgusting.

We shall henceforth refer to them as "tires of color" or, if you're British "tyres of colour" ;)

Kind of reminds me of the time Hamilton won the US GP and reports in the American press listed him as "African-American" since you can't say "black" anymore. Which is especially ironic since his dad's family was from Grenada and hadn't been near Africa in hundreds of years...

You may be more right than wrong on that.
I've heard rumblings that Lewis is the new owner of a winery near Sonoma, and no, that doesn't mean he's soon to join NASCAR.

Hold it--of all the models you mentioned who live in Brazil, you forgot this one?

Madness.

On a serious note: I don't follow the IRL, but I may tune into this one--it's as if I've got a stake in the game now that Sato's won a race. :p

It is (on Band once again), but the happening is only next week!!! That's why I only found Big butted models vs tiny bikini's on the channel programming sheets!!!

I think I'll watch it as a warm up to the Spanish F1 race two weeks from now.
