I am somewhat of a GT40 bug, and I have an Englishman at my house right now
wanting to know where the GT110 chassis of the '66 Sebring winner is buried. That was a 7 liter targa roof Ford GT, one of one made.
The last guy I knew who knew where it was, Steele Therkelsen, recently died and I didn't get a chance to ask
him. The car was rewarded for winning the 12 Hours by being cut in halves, or quarters and rolled into a land fill in Torrance.
Any idea of how I could find it? I thought of going to city hall and looking at land fill permits but that ws probably befgore computers?
Also there was spare lightweight chassis sent to Holman & Moody while the first was sent to McLaren to make it into the X1, the predecessor to the Sebring racer, using the same chassis. Does anyone know where 110-A chassis went? I feel it could be built back into a copy of g=110 because it is the same era, same suppliers (Abbey Panelcraft).
Any opinions? Do I need to rent a skip loader?
