I have not had a chance to watch the video since i'm at work. However my thoughts on the written part:

- It seems that Webber trusts Button and Alonso the most in wheel to wheel combat. I think both are very fair and clean racers and will do what is necessary to avoid a collison even if it means losing a place.

- Did not know about Alonso's engine problem in San Marino. Makes that victory all the more impressive.

- Alonso said "The car felt good" (not exactly downplaying the car, as some want us to believe) about his Malaysia victory. I remember he also said something similar after the wet practice session in Melbourne. I think the rain masked some of the bad characteristics in the early F2012.

- Didn't the brake pedals got snapped in Brazil 2003 and Valencia 2010.

SAW IT AND LOVED IT.

Bet Chacco cannot do the same with Button, neither Vettel with Webber.
Perhaps Schumacher and Mika could have done, but not with DC and Schumacher.
Senna and Prost? might have been interesting, but was some fragments in Senna film.
Lauda and Hunt? Wy not over a whisky or two?
Kimi and Fernando? might be very silent or sjvbu;wbIjcjsa":CK,'dsvl\w\a,

those were my thoughts.

Silly to know that Vettel and Webber conversation could have been made but would be only by Red Bull Promo and would have made a silly fake chats and fake looking at each other. Strange human feeling knows what fake or not even before it takes place.

Really? Can you provide a quote where Alonso and Button have said similar about Mark?

I actually remember Alonso mentioning Button and Webber as two drivers that played fair. Will see if I can find the quote.

Webber might trust a couple of other drivers, but I wonder just how many trust him ?

Exactly the question that popped up in my head when i was reading the excerpt...

Really,is this even up for discussion??..Mark Webber is arguably the biggest chopper around now that MS has retired..Maldo is still more dangerous but he's usually more into the 'nose diving/head first' stuff.Webber is more subtle...I remember the 09-10 seasons when it got so bad that a ban was on the cards...the term ''WebboChop'' was used and understood by one and all in F1 internet circles.

1. On Kimi at Brazil 2009.
2. On Rubens at Abu Dhabi 2009.
3. On Hamilton at Australia 2010 (reprimand).
4. On Rubens at Germany 2010 (penalty).
5. On Kubica at Monza 2009.
6. On Hamilton at Singapore 2010. (thinking about it, this was more a punt)

There was also one where he punted Kova off and blamed Kova...

/waits for response where all sorts of excuses are given as to why none of the above incidents were Webber's fault, even though he admitted one, was penalized for two others and says he didn't see a driver in another

(Oh, and before the Singapore GP in 2010, Brundle asked Webber if Webber was willing to "play dirty" - the answer was an unequivocal yes)

And in reference to No.1,his excuse for his chop on KR in Brazil 09 was 'he would've done the same to me'' when asked about his move at the post race PC..It was such a blatant chop(he moved over across atleast half the width of the race track),he didnt even bother trying to defend it as legal ..

And now you have people saying he is ''one of the cleanest drivers around'' Posted Image

Plus I don't recall Kimi driving like that. Had he said it of Schumi or Vettel I could have half-understood, but Kimi is the archetype of being hard but fair.

Alonso and Webber are just having fun. They are neither of them largely fair on track; Alonso's gig is making stuff up that other drivers have done to him and crying for penalties, while Mark's is all that random chopping and and shunting and holding his imaginary lines. So I just think they are just friends on a bender to give us a little entertainment between races.

Their bigging eachother up as 'trustworthy drivers that play fair' reminds of Alonso and Lewis' mutual admiration society. Definitely in the "not to be taken seriously category."

Translation: I'm a Vettel fan therefore I don't like the mutual respect others drivers give each other instead of to Vettel. It's 'definitely' not to be taken seriously, but I'm still going to take it serious enough to watch the clip and then comment on it using my novice psychology expertise.

When asked about who will win the 2008 WDC between Hamilton, Massa and Kubica, Sebastian Vettel replied "Kimi Raikkonen". It is not illogical for drivers to have pals on the grid that they are partial to. So to say Webber is a fair driver considering his multitudes of race incidents is something a friend would say, not a competitor. Therefore the "not to be taken seriously".

That is not to say Alonso isn't justified in trusting Webber on track. They are friends, they will be fairer to each other than most (just like Sebastian was with Kimi in Spain and vice versa in Bahrain).

There is no fault in being biased.

Even if the bit in bold was true, it has nothing to do with how fair Alonso's racing is on track, so i don't know why you mention it. Care to explain?

As for the last paragraph, if Webber and Alonso trust each other while racing, then who are you to tell them any different?

So they basically reenacted their interview once more for the BBC, including laughter at jokes?

Webber is one of the worst when it comes to clean racing. In 2010 people on here were calling for a race ban, most notably after his performance in Australia 2010

Agree, the people i would trust at the present moment in clean racing are Kimi, Lewis, Fernando and Button.

Exactly as I understood it as well.

Besides that the dig against Alonso suggesting he isn't clean was a bit of a cheap and unbased one. I guess he said it because of what Alonso gave to Vettel at Spa (which was fair, unlike the re-newed version of that move Vettel took on Alonso a year later).
