Thanks to Cirrus, I attended my first HSCC in about 2 years today...........and very enjoyable it was, too!
Even though events took place under leaden skies (well, til about 3.30 when the sun finally deemed to show its' face) there was a really good turn-out. Here's a few pics.
Only the Mustang to start with (I have a 'thing' about Mustangs), but more will follow after dinner.

Some wonderful cars there, Gary!

Thanks for posting the pictures. I love the red, yellow and blue BMW.

Just wish we could fix the weather...it never used to be like this.

The only genuine F2 chassis that Macon ever made which was by special order for Craig McAllister of W.A. in the late 60's. It proved to be very successful in the domestic racing in Aust.

Dear Gary C,
Your photo of my Chev Camaro splendid in its new paint job (half the twenty-year old cheapo paint job just fell off at HSCC Thruxton Easter Bank Hol: I blame the frost and minus 5C temps). It warms my heart to drive it !

The meeting was well-organised and beautifully marshalled and even tho' I did not do justice to the car on the GP citcuit, still came 9th out of 30+ starters.

The HSCC is like the best story you never heard of ... solid two-day meetings like this weekend, which qualifies as the poor man's Silverstone Classic, for those who can't/won't pay the £1000 + entry fees of the July meeting - just a very well-attended meeting at normal club rates.

I was also impressed by the number of novices on the track - I would put a view that the HSCC is better at providing a well-organised place to start your historic experience however long it lasts, unlike some clubs where multiplying the age of the drivers with the age of the cars would yield the world's largest prime number ...

Gary, thank you ...
Nick

I couldn't agree with you more about the HSCC! I'm a longtime supporter. Glad you liked the photo, too.

To be fair, there's an awful lot of tarmac at Silverstone, so much so that I'm pretty sure you could negotiate the circuit in a Boeing 747 without too much difficulty.

This March uses at least 33% more of it than most.....

The result is that unless you have a media pass & a bazooka of a lens, Silverstone is a photographer's nightmare these days. :well:

Very true. I've practically given up on track shots there.

Yep, me too, which is why these days I concentrate on paddock and pit shots only.

Even those with a media pass & a bazooka lens make the same complaint
