RIP. I really cant see that event continuing much longer. Even though the riders chose to do it and I'm not calling for it to be stopped, I just cant see organisers running that risk in the modern world.

Very sad.This was His video blog recorded 2 hours before the qualifying run.. The wave goodbye at the end is very depressing..


let this remind us that motorsport is dangerous and no one is invincible.

I wouldn't ban it.

You can't say anyone taking part doesn't know the risks, or know the record of deaths.

That risk is a large part of the reward for many of them and no-one forces them to do it.

Sad news.

I'm not one for believing one's soul risks being in some terrible place when you die - when you're dead you're dead IMHO according to all verifiable facts - so I won't say 'RIP', but my sympathies to his family, friends, colleagues and all who knew him.

Very sad news, but those men chose to race RR with all consequences. This is part of RR and they're masters of they fate. To own, unique way this is the final form of human freedom.
Much more people die in skydiving, mountain climbing or combat sports (esp. boxing). Do those also sport should be banned?

this is not a mainstream event that claims to be up to date in terms of safety standards acceptable in other racing series.
add to that the risks involved in "safe" motorcycle races and there is no reason to ban the TT

Road Racing is dangerous - Isle of Man TT in part because of the popularity of the contest, I wouldn't ban it but my heart sinks every time a rider is killed. R.I.P Yoshinari Matsushita

The few of you calling for this event to be banned, get over yourself.

It doesn't matter what the venue is for motorcycle racing. It's always been dangerous no matter if it is a circuit or public roads like TT events. It also happens to be part of the allure of motorcycle racing. I don't like seeing anyone killed, but I'd rather see the guys choosing whether or not they want to race in such events where the stakes are higher. As long as they are aware of the risks involved, that is all that needs to be considered. It's their choice at the end of the day.

I wouldn't ban it, the riders know and accept the risks.

Like F1 drivers of old, they get a buzz from the risk.

In this day of PC its good to see something like the TT still going, when F1 has become ultra safe and.. Ultra boring.

Its very very tragic and sad but at least he died doing something he loved, not many of us get that option.
