RIP. I really cant see that event continuing much longer. Even though the riders chose to do it and I'm not calling for it to be stopped, I just cant see organisers running that risk in the modern world.

Much more people die in skydiving, mountain climbing or combat sports (esp. boxing). Do those also sport should be banned?

Okay.Reluctant to say this in a RIP thread, but youre being a bit too free & easy with the term Hero there.

Anyone who takes part in an event like this, takes part because of the event it is.
Nobody wants to die and people say this stupid phrase time and again in the cheesiest of circumstances and it's often not even true, but going during this event is going doing what you loved.
To probably paraphrase something Richard Petty probably said once, there ain't nobody got any business commenting on this who says it should be stopped.
