After years of banging on about the need for LIVE coverage of all major racing events it looks like they've taken the bait.

Starting this weekend the LIVE section of Autosport will cover a multitude of events.
This service will compliment the various race threads in providing added value and content for the races we are focusing on.

Glad to see this happen and hope to see many of you over there.

Good idea, might have to check it out from time to time. However, i fear that with social media (mainly twitter) now a huge source of instant news its not going to be that popular.

I know i use twitter to keep tabs on events i can't watch or aren't on the box, specifically WRC.

We don't want it to be that popular. ;)

I hope it will be running on a different server to the forum!

Edit: It is.

Would be awesome if it was possible to filter on running events. Motogp and WRC on at the same time in the same list of events is really confusing.

Great stuff. But mixing all things in same timeline is a bit of shame. Hope they'll separate it sooner rather than later.

Great new feature, I am enjoying this. Very glad they didn't lock this to subscribers only, too. Cheers.

On improvements: besides the possibility to filter the events like Babbel suggested (which would be nice), also opening up the chat like they have for F1 live sessions, would make it even better.

Oh, I didn't realize it's not interactive. Kind of takes away the point, eh?

I'm glad that this has been popular so far!

I'm afraid that it's unlikely that we'll be opening up the live chat feature that the live F1 commentary has. This is because while the F1 commentary has a dedicated host (Emlyn Hughes) throughout a live session who can keep an eye on the comments, the Race Centre is a collaboration of our journalists from around the world.

We'll be keeping an eye on this thread for any other feedback (we'll be discussing it all in the office even if we don't directly address it in here), but feel free to E-mail me at Simon.Grayson@haymarket.com if you've got any feedback which you don't want to post on the forums.

Just two from me Grayson:

1) I think it would be a good idea of having the list of events down the right hand side under the Race Centre Live logo as a quick guide

2) Maybe for later in the day, links to key events (I'm guessing this is based somewhat on BBC Sport's Sportsday) so maybe as well as the above have an In Summary section on the right hand side - at the moment it looks a bit bare that side!

As a general question, will F1 news bits be dropped in there as well? Pirelli's press conference is in 40 minutes, hence why I'm wondering. Great stuff so far.

Would it be possible to have a different color for the bike/car/single seater logos? Just to make skimming for what you're looking for a little easier.

We will be dropping in links to major F1 news and features as well. RCL is something the entire AUTOSPORT team is very passionate about. We'll be refining the format, content and technology of it in various ways as we go along, so it will develop quite organically.

It is intended as a rolling news service mainly, hence the lack of an interactive element, and also to give our reporters another outlet to share all the information and insight they'll pick up in the paddock over a racing weekend. So many conversations and snippets cannot be fitted into the formats of necessarily punchy news/reports or magazine analysis, or are swiftly made irrelevant by events unfolding, but now RCL exists all of this can be used to help bring racing weekends to life for readers.

Not at all..
We have race threads on the boards for that.
As a matter of fact/opinion, if RCL did have chat I feel it might take away the significance threads have (well, some threads at least.)
F1 chat is a different kettle of fish, entirely.

Thanks Jp, we've enjoyed it a lot and been very pleased with the readership figures. Lots of refinements to come.

It definitely needs a way to filter/hide unwanted events from the flow of the page.

Nice effort though! :)

1 thing I'd say, as it really annoys me, is for goodness sake, put the times as BST, not GMT. GMT is 1 hour behind BST, and 2 hours behind most of Europe. It makes it really bloody annoying when trying to think "ok, when does this race start, when does this coverage start, when does this or that start/end etc. I know you'll claim there's a perfectly good reason for it, but.............no. If it's at all possible, put the timings as BST. That goes for ALL aspects of the Autosport Live coverage, regardless of the series. When the clocks change, then show the GMT times, but not now.
