I quite fancy a trip to the lovely part of Italy Imola is at and it would be better on the calendar anyway. Bye-bye Abu-Dhabi although I could have voted for Yeongam too, would be happy to see both chopped.

I voted strictly from a circuit perspective. Because Yeongam is obviously a terrible venue.

There are a lot of good circuits on that list... Magny-Cours, Imola, the A1 Ring, and the old Hockenheim to name a few. I could've voted for any of them, but I went with Hockenheim in the end.

The easy choice for elimination is Yeongam, for me. I like all the other circuits on the calendar right now except maybe Singapore.

Once I'd made the decision to bring back the old version, it didnt seem to make sense to have new version to remain on the calendar as well.

I wanted the same, but then my choice took priority. We have too many circuits of those characteristics right now (IMO, of course).

Similar theory here, but Australia version:

In - Adelaide
Out - Melbourne.

Also - Mexico not on the old circuits list?

I only did circuits from last 20 years (i.e. 1993 onwards) so Mexico just missed out.

I am glad to see that the Old Hockenheim is missed by many others. There are not enough low downforce tracks on the calendar at the moment IMO.

I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Jerez, and it's the closest to home for me too.

Get rid of Abu Dhabi. It's not interesting at all.

Magny-Cours and Imola are borefests. Imola especially. I threw a party when it finally went off the calendar.

Also, just because a circuit might have a good flow does not mean it is suitable for a modern F1 race.

There are a lot of circuits that are awesome but they are more bike circuits.

I liked the races on Fuji, so I voted that I want it back.

I would get rid of Hungaroring- too little action for a not street-circuit.

Which version of the circuit do we get? Mid 90s Estoril or the 2013? Imola now or with the old Tamburello?

Good point. For Estoril, definitely the old one. For Imola, i think the the old one too, though i think the circuit they have now (with the Varinate Bassa cut out) could be good.

Imola has been changed since 2006. It's a straight run from Rivazza 2 all the way down to the Tamburello. For F1 purposes, DRS activation would be before Rivazza 1, and activation would be coming out of Rivazza 2.

I hope the person who chose Magny Cours lives near the track and just wants to attend a GP. Otherwise why would anyone want this Mickey, no scratch that, Minnie Mouse track back in F1? The only reason I can think of for bringing it back is so France is again on the calendar.

It was ME and I want it back BECAUSE... Frentzen won there in Jordan 1999... MEMORIES !!!!!! and yeah the Frenchies need a GP too... I say that as their German Friend :D

Imola and Valencia were second choices :D

I've never really quite understood the like/love for Magny Cours. It's not a bad track relative to some of what we have currently on the calendar. Would I take it over Yeongam? Sure. But is it the best circuit F1 could race on in France? Absolutely not. Paul Ricard was always a much better choice for the French GP. Nothing like Le Castellet in July with the bright blue skies.

Turkey in. Hungary out.

Actually would have more I wish F1 would run on again such as Imola, old Hockenheim, Austria, France. I say that as someone who would watch those races on TV.

Yeongam I would selfishly keep as I have retired to Korea and have family in Yeosu and Suncheon in South Jeolla province and plan to be there when the race is run this year.

Went for Adelaide, but it was a coin toss between that and Istanbul (best Tilke track by far) and Estoril (for selfish reasons, decent track though even in its modern version). Actually I don't think this list of tracks ditched the last 20 years is terribly exciting - some good venues but no brilliant monster supertracks like the Nordschleiffe, the original 70s Kyalami, Zandvoort, etc (though all would be very unsuited to modern F1).

I dropped Abu Dhabi, terrible track whose only saving grace is a flashing hotel. I think even Bahrain is more challenging and interesting than that, same for Korea.

Magny Cours was usually quite dull, but i guess i have some good memories of the place because it was a good hunting ground for Schumacher/Ferrari. I think with DRS and Pirelli tyres, it could be quite interesting.

Old Hockenheim would be interesting with today's cars. Red Bulls fast in the stadium section, but the Ferraris and Mclarens fast on the straights.

Estoril would be a tyre killer with these Pirellis (it is a similar layout to Barcelona but has a much more abrasive surface).

I went for switching the Hockenheimrings like a few others... Magny Cours did have 2 nice chicanes, which are almost a redeeming feature, but it's no more interesting than Shanghai et al

The emasculated new Hockenheim is still far better than Yeongham which is basically a go-kart track with two long straights bolted on, whilst being bathed in eternal smog. The whole atmosphere around the track is also dead since the incumbent surrounding city never materialised. Horrible.

Istanbul Park was a brilliant track for racing but DRS spoiled it post-2011. Imola has it all though, it's fast, flowing and favours the brave..

Old Hockenheim would certainly be interesting with today's cars - the old loop through the forest has been dug up and replanted with trees!

Agree. Especially after the 2005 and 2006 "go slow and wide to win" demonstrations.
