Based on that alone I never see Kimi back in McLaren. Red Bull yes, but McLaren? Big no I'd say. Been there, done that is what I'd say about Kimi-McLaren partnership.

He may have doubts about how well Lotus/Renault can do next year, and there may not be a Red Bull offer. I think he would probably go with Red Bull if available, but they might choose to have one of the Toro Rosso drivers partner Seb.

If he'll drive against Kimi like he does his current team mate he might injure his face playing tennis.

loAnd Kimi just as he has done in a Lotus being the first driver to win a race in a car bearing the Lotus name since Aryton Senna at Detroit 1987 could repeat the feat with McLaren and be the first driver since Aryton Senna at Monza 1992 to win a race in a McLaren-Honda!

If i'm not mistaken, Gerhard Berger was the last driver to win with McLaren Honda - in Australia, the last GP of the 1992 season.

if McLaren wants him he should make a deal ... get his old power steering system from MP4-20 swapped into E21, now... :p

According to this Italian interview: Link

Minardi says there are signs at McLaren that Button is thinking of taking a year off F1 or possibly even 'changing his life'. This is the first I've heard of Button considering retirement but I guess the past couple of years have been kind of exhausting for him with very little results for all that effort.

BS. The last couple of years have been Button's best

As much as I like Button, he is in no position to be taking breaks from f1, the moment he goes on a gardening leave is the moment when Mclaren get him replaced never to look back. Only few drivers in F1 can afford such holiday: Hakkinen, Kimi, Alonso, Vettel, Hamilton.....definitely not Button though.

Yes! the last race that season where Senna and Mancell came together fighting over the lead. Berger was the winner.

Apparently, you can add Sutil and Vitantonio Luizzi and Narain Karthekayan to that list...

I dont see why Button would take a year out or Kimi go to McLaren next year rather than staying at Lotus or going to Red Bull.

Button might be out if his contract isn't renewed, but I guess McLaren need some solid experienced driver and Button is that and brit too.
