But it's like Skip Barber or something(which I did). It's a self contained little unit. Your 'career' doesn't really start until you move out of it. But if you do promote on, you'd consider it part of your training.

How about Andy Wallace?Historic Racing is in a grey area really. If someone did that for a while, was stupidly quick, got some experience, tried to move into the pro ranks, was impressive, etc; good on them. But it's like Ferrari Challenge or even this Lambo series. You're not really looking at it as a series that leads on to something else. Yeah people do come out of those kinds of things and go GT racing, but you'd sooner expect to see someone racing Clios end up in a touring car, you know? It is driving race cars as a hobby. Which is fine. Racing for pleasure in a lot of ways is better than racing pro, especially if you already made your money. I'd totally dig driving one of those old cars if I could mentally get past how dangerous they are.

Didn't the guy right here in my avatar, for that very team (that will be Prost in a Ferrari for future reference if I change my avatar), spun and retired in a formation lap once, I think it was Imola in the wet?
Right, it was 1991 Gran Premio di San Marino, when Alain would have started from 3rd place on the grid.

So, he spun out on a non racing lap but he thinks it might be damage from an incident he doesn't remember.
He´s already a grown up racing driver.

I believe he started off in Historic Formula Ford as that was all he could afford. at the time. What about him? Does he/did he do historic racing? I think his Le Mans career is what made his name...

I'm surprised he didn't blame an invisible Grosjean for ramming into him.

That one has probably not yet made into the 'Nigel Mansell Bumper Book of Racing Excuses' he was given for Christmas.I'm surprised he didn't blame an invisible Grosjean for ramming into him.

Not sure how accurate that database is
It's a woefully incomplete database, hence probably does far more harm than good - just check out some of the all time greats and see how many races are missed.

I dunno. Something about the way Adrian Newey drives/races makes me think he doesn't learn much. If he wasn't ADRIAN NEWEY you'd look at his career and wonder when he's going to start driving with his head.
What? Is this tongue in cheek? Sorry it's so bad I simply can't tell. But if serious, then it makes even less sense because driving is not his career, he just does it for fun. Nothing more than a serious hobby. I was only speculating that it may assist in his day job of designing F1 cars.

I doubt there's anything on a Lamborghini Cup car that translates to a super high downforce car, and he doesn't seem to drive in a cerebral way. Though maybe he'll think "oh, I should make cars more driver friendly, they are are easy to crash".

Though alledgedly there where some things on his E type that where derived from his Red Bull work - though of course that is just a rumourAnd I'm saying I don't think it does *shrug*.
