Ahem - this looks like shameless self-promotion but I promise you it's a) reluctantly posted, and b) in a good cause. If any of you living within striking distance of Farnham, Surrey, are at a loose end this coming Saturday evening, I'm giving a talk on the above in our local village hall - St Martin's Hall, off Dene Lane, Lower Bourne, on the Frensham road south of Hawthorn's home town. It's all in aid of the Community Trust which has restored the Hall and which runs it for local events. My blether will be accompanied by movie and still photos, and will hopefully provide a reasonably un-dull, non-boring insight into what has gone on at Goodwood, why, when and how. Tickets at door £7.50 - there' will be a bar, refreshments and a warm welcome guaranteed...or I'll refund the disappointed (maybe). Trust me, I'm a journalist...

It's a bit far from me otherwise I wouldn't hesitate. Good Luck and hope it goes well!

Oh! and what time is the kick-off?
* ie I don't know how to input addresses - I think it's town, county, street number or something equally illogical.

The Hall is up a footpath from Dene Lane, beside our little St Martin's church there. Dene Lane itself is unmade and very bumpy, flanking the Bourne village green.
Thank you. No commitment!

Probably not, I suppose - too busy with the real thing at that time.

Would there be a suitable opportunity for what promises to be avery erudite, interesting certainly well-informed talk to be given at, say, the Revival itself in, say, the GRRC tent at some suitable pause in the programme?

Damn and blast. I will be in France that day. Will there be an Internet simulcast?
If this talk is a success, I've heard that there are plans for a nationwide tour, beginning with the O2 Arena.

I'd heard that as well. The version I heard said DCN would be warm-up act for a Spice Girls reunion (although it wasn't clear whether he would be warming up the audience or the Spice Girls themselves). If this talk is a success, I've heard that there are plans for a nationwide tour, beginning with the O2 Arena.

Is that what they call a Festival of Speed?

Is the Tasty House on Station Road still open might need some sustenance after a three hour drive ?
Indeed it is, but I would not recommend investing a six hour round trip for so little...

Full report expected for those of us not able to get there.
Perhaps a forest of arms in the air, holding mobile phones. It'll be on YouTube tomorra.

It all started with a night of drunkeness in 1992 and our man Nye, the only man sober, to reminded Lord March and his friends what they had been discussing the morning after. The rest is 20 years of Goodwood history and many happy memories.

T'would be good to hear it north of the river some time ... perhaps a feature at a TNF Film Show ?
David
Oh yes please, always a slot open for Doug's splendidly entertaining presentation.
