Love the way people arrange their day around the various sessions too. Many an argument has begun because of this!

Thankfully the other half won't ever miss a race either! Also made persuading her to queue for a seat at the British GP from 5am a little easier too.

When I lived in Australia I loved the 10pm race starts on a Sunday - the perfect time for it. I hardly ever watched a qualifying session on a Saturday evening though. The tricky races are the Americas as they are on at 3 or 4am. I remember almost not getting out of bed for Brazil 08 - thank god I did!!

In the UK I much prefer the early Asian races as it means the rest of the day is free. I've really gone off the 1pm starts now.

Depends on the day really. If it's as miserable as it is today, mid-afternoon so there's an excuse not to go out in the rain. If it's a nice summers day, mid-morning so the rest of the day is free. I also liked watching the Australian qualifying late night, but unfortunately there's no races at that time when you live in Britain.

I'm in the UK, I love the excessively early ones, they definitely add to the theatre and excitement. I really miss the 3am Oz start as a 1 off to start the season, that was cool, as were 5/6am Japan/Malaysia legs. And I definitely agree with the poster earlier who mentioned the madness of Fuji 2007 being heightened by the early start, what an occasion!

In Japan most races start at 2100 and i love it, to the extent I feel quite annoyed at daytime start for those Asian/Pacific GPs. :p

For F1, moderately early starts for sure, although in the European season this would mean ridiculously early starts to watch GP3 and GP2 beforehand. It's one thing Flavio Briatore is correct on - people would still watch live, or more people would watch live, and still have a Sunday afterwards.

For Indycar...UK time I like the Saturday evening races that start around 11pm. That's kind of academic when you bring ESPN into the equation though, as UFC take the live slot into the early hours so I had to put up with a Sunday morning replay from Texas last weekend.

The best races ever though were all the title deciders from Suzuka. There's little being than being totally wired at 4am watching a knuckle biter.

It's a bit warped in Dubai, because the work week is Sunday through Thursday and most races start in the afternoon, local time, so I'm stuck with following things via formula1.com and hanging out with the other degenerates in this site's live chat. Races like Canada and Austin are brilliant, though; watching at 10 p.m., in a festive atmosphere is a treat.

I would watch a race at any time given the choice between that and these 3 week breaks! Those early morning Suzuka finales bring back good childhood memories

I like my F1 at Sunday 8am est.

I like my NASCAR Sunday at 1pm est during the summer and spring. I want my NASCAR on at 4pm on Sunday during NFL season.

I want my Indy on Saturday Night.

The morning, no doubt. Especially 08:00 is great. No need to get up early, but the race is done before 10:00 - leaving the rest of the day free.

I cannot agree more.

On weekend I tend to wake up at 07:30-08:30 anyways so I don't mind starting the morning with a race to then, like you mentioned, have the rest of the day to do whatever I please. 14:00 are a bit on an inconvenience since they block out the morning and afternoon and kind of makes you want to spend the entire Sunday at home.
