I'm researching the Lotus 30, and have been trying to find any photographs of Paul Matty's Lotus 30 as used in the British Hillclimb Championship, I've searched the web without any success.

I'm also trying to find the chassis number and history of the Barber Museum Lotus 30 Series 1.

Can any members help

Mike

It was imported from the States by my brother Richard, and rebuilt by Bill Roberts. Richard hillclimbed it for a number of years and in fact got FTD at Shelsley in July 1994. There's a nice picture on p187 of Simon Taylor's Shelsley Walsh book. It went to Andy Bradshaw via Paul Matty.

Here's a photo of the car when owned by Bradshaw, taken at Anglesey in 2006 (and posted here) by TNFer Fyrth Crosse:

Thanks for the responses, iv'e numerous photographs of Andrew Bradshaws car (seen at it various events) and a couple when owned by Richard Drewett. Photographs when owned by Paul Matty seem to be hard to come by. Does any one know the colours when owned by Paul. I will also try and contact Paul if possible.

As an aside does anybody know how much the Lotus 30 weighed please?

I know racing car weights are notoriously unclear but its quite a small car with a very small chassis ( albeit in steel) so I have always been curious if it was lighter than a Mclaren or Lola T70.

Wouldnt be much else to recommend it I have to say!

I'm also trying to find the chassis number and history of the Barber Museum Lotus 30 Series 1.

Even the museum's own description keeps quiet about the chassis number:
