I think the broadcast crew also did their job well. Especially when compared with "Always Bad Coverage" guys.
I see what you did there.

Anyways sounds like a nice race. Happy for RHR and Power. I was rooting for Marco sadly. Bourdais... was he a douche again? And Satoooooooo

pbr is so underrated.
Agreed, so very much. I wish the hipsters would leave it alone!
And what I wouldn't give for a PBR livery!

I was pointing it out to my seat buddies "The blue car with the orange flashes is leading the group that all has fresh tires, they'll be quick". Tagliani loops it on restart.
Then Sato just started video gaming it. But everytime he was setting up a pass or going by someone I looked to the big screens and he never seemed to be on screen. He got hurt BAD by that last yellow, I'd have liked to see him and RHR restart that final time side by side...

Dunno, I was up in the top of the grandstand but my section was all but sold out. Looked like the grandstands in the turns were filled in the top half. But that makes sense, I don't think you'd see much at track level in any of the sections. I think they sold 18,000 tickets pre-event.
You're not going to sit down alongside the track unless you have to. But saying that, when showing close ups on television of the cars on the front stretch, it made the crowd look bad. Even worse when they showed clips from the 1993 race with Mansell and Andretti and the infield was packed, let alone the grandstands.

How was attendance/atmosphere? Looks like a fun race to attend
Local paper, the MKE Journal-Sentinel, guessed about 22,000, about the same as last year. Seems about right, the stands and bleachers looked about half-ish full.
Ross is right about sitting down low. From about Row 14 or so on up, you can see most of the track.
Wonder how many in the infield? For the second year running, there were basically no worthwhile viewing spots inside the track; other than one platform for people who paid extra to be there, infielders couldn't get closer than a good 30 yards, and looking through the fencing. Major downer for us wannabe photogs

Sato bossed it, especially after he was part of that first group who pitted.
Sato said his car got bad loose toward the end of the next-to-last run, about five or 10 laps before Helio and RHR caught him, and never came back, even after his last stop. I was waiting for him to start marching to the front after the last restart, but the car wasn't there any more.

Field of Dreams! Field of Dreams! Gotta mention that stupid Costner movie. If the state is known for something beyond corn, it's a baseball field in a cornfield.

My feed came by NBC, complete with Diffy and Buxton.
Best bit though, most of it was commentary free.
Sights of cars going round and round; sounds of the same.
No talkee.
It occurred to me someone, somewhere, must be enduring one hell of a lot of add breaks.
I'll swear the commentary was a whole lot shorter then the non-commentary periods.
