Hearing the commentators suggesting that Vettel has to beat Kimi as a teamate to dispell the doubt about his true ability. Beating Mark for 3 years doesn't seem to cut it according to Brundle.

Grit in it's true sense simply means having passion, perseverance & resilience. Hard to fault Mark in any of those areas. He worked his guts out to achieve his dream of racing in F1.

A lot of Northern Hemispherers don't understand how difficult it is to travel from Australia to Europe for motorsport and make it to the top. Most of the top drivers in F1 have had major backing most of their career and used to living where they race. While Mark had to struggle with the small backing he had from Oz and prove he had what it takes on foreign soil. Its the reason why we rarely see Australians on the grid these days. Its a monumental leap.

Porsche are not stupid, they don't need to pay 10m euro for a driver to compete in about 6 WEC races and some testing. That's silly.

Not quite sure how Webber adds positive publicity to Porsche, or that they even need it from him. It's not like he's a world champion, or a top driver at his peak. I suppose you could argue he'll be the quickest ex-F1 driver in endurance racing next year. That's not exactly headline material after the initial buzz of the signing.

Good for him though. He lasted years longer in a great car than he should have, having been beaten badly by his teammate, and landed on his feet with an interesting new job.

I thought I'd read before that the 'sh' sound is at the end of the first syllable as well as the start of the second - so its something like Porsh-sheh rather than Por-sheh. Either way its awkward to put the fine points of pronounciation of another language into the middle of an English sentence, even if it is a name.
