BBC weather already said 17C at 09:00, going to be very interesting because I expect to see a charging Alonso & Raikonnen/Grosjean.

Grid is quite mixed up even though quali was normal so should be a really interesting race

Looked nice and sunny from GP2/3 races, am not there though and therefore can't provide live updates, but anyhow shouldn't be a sniff of rain.

20-21 degrees 15mph winds, sunny-ish no rain.

I expect Red Bull to win this easily. Their man rivals are way behind and Mercedes won't be looking so good if the temperatures keep increasing. Depends what they learnt from the tyre test.

Yes, Red Bulls clear favourites (hope Webber wins).
A bit like Canada - cooler qualifying and warmer sunday) but this time I doubt Alonso can pass the Mercedes.

Anyone feeling sad that it's Webber's last British GP must remember that you'll see him at Silverstone again much earlier than you think... for £35 you'll see him racing in the 6 Hour race in the WEC next season...

Out here at Stowe it's about 17 warm in the sun and the heavier cloud has gone in the last 30 mins.
There is a stiff breeze coming from behind us.

I think the temp at 1 will be a couple of degrees up on qualifying but not a lot more.

Regards Mike

Quite. Will be a walk in the park for Vettel.

Shame. The interest will be further down the field.

I really hope Mercedes can keep Vettel back. Kimi needs to get Top-5 and keep Alonso back. But most important i hope for some REAL ACTION. Last races have been so crappy zZzZzzZz.. Real racing, safety cars, maybe some shower. Bring it on!!

Yeah, temps are forecasted to reach 21'c at race-start, and I doubt that will be enough (as I've remarked a couple of times elsewhere already) to shift the balance markedly between teams. Mercedes will be just as good or bad in 19'c as in 21'c I think, 'cause I doubt they're near the cliff in such relatively low temps, even if the fast sweepers put a lot of stress and energy throuhgh the tires.
We'll see. I won't dare to hope for them winning, I think Red Bull's race-pace will be better, so my realistic hope is for Webber to win again.
Will be exciting to see how big a role Ricciardo is going to play, and if Alonso and the Renault's will figure more strongly today. They should of course.
...I'm also hoping for DiResta to have a good one, and for Hamilton to finish on the podium.

21-22C would be the air temperature. The track temperature would at least be in the high 20C low 30C region, I presumed.

Should be a good race, really. Kimi, Alonso and maybe Grosjean battling up the field. The battle for the midfield spots behind. The Mercedes pair trying to hold Vettel back.

Webber with nothing to lose. :D

Really interested to see how much Mercedes have "learnt" about tyre management issues.
IF they have then don't discount them from either of the Championships.
Will also be interesting to see if Ross will let them race rather than drive in formation.
Paul to drive a stormer for a points finish, McLaren ........I just have a bad feeling for them given how Force India & Toro Rosso have come on recently.
Ferrari HAVE to do something today, Fernando will be at the centre of some good racing.
Heart says Hamilton-Raikkonen-Webber.
Head says Vettel-Webber plus one.

Mark Webber is expecting very competitive W04s for the race, and he might be right. I don't think it would be a stroll in the park for Vettel or Webber.

I think everyone except Red Bull fans will be hoping that Mercedes can give Red Bull a run for their money, the Ferraris and Lotuses (Loti?) are just too far back, I think. A fast Mercedes would also be good for keeping the championship close if they can take points of Seb.

Can just hear them doing their installation laps. The people who don't wear any ear protection at the track are mental.

Excited for the start of the race. Will Nico try to get the jump? Will Seb be worried about what Mark is going to do? Will Mark just say "**** it, my last Silverstone" and go for the gap and risk taking Seb out?

Can't wait.

Looking forward to this one - but I think the Mercs are going to be faster in the than others are expecting them to be. Wouldn't be surprised to see Hammy win it, wouldn't be surprised to see Seb do it either. I would love Webber to win but think a 2nd/3rd will be the best result he can get today. Really hope Ricciardo can have a great race today - starting 5th I will be very happy if he can maintain that position for the race end but I think that will be hard to do because Alonso and Kimi will only go forward from where they're starting...

Seb is 36 ahead of Fred - and 55 ahead of Lewis. Unless Seb has a DNF, I think both those will go up...and he could get to 75points ahead of Lewis, which Lewis has descibed as "the points of no return" (mentioned in Benson's column on the BBC)

Bottas' car was setup 10mm too low on the rear for qualifying by accident. They are not allowed to change that anymore, so with the heavy fuel load there might be a lot of sparking. What a mess :D

Going to watch the backmarkers today.
Caterham and Marussia have gone in completely different directions, looking at the speed trap numbers:
link

Catherham are the slowest in a straight line, at about 300kph, but
Marussia are (apart from Massa) the absolute fastest of the whole grid, at about 310kph.

Grosjean was sparking loads in qualifying already, that seems worrying for the race?

Seems like aaaaages since I watched an F1 race live - lets see if its improved.

I'm expecting a pole to flag victory for Lewis, but I think there will be a good scrap behind him.

Lewis needs about 4.6 points per race more than Seb..It's not that impossible
