To be honest, it is bad taste, but.. the person writing it will have as much to do with the proper FIA as you do, he's just a media blog writer employed to write up the news storys, clever catchline.

How is it bad taste? Nobody got hurt or died for Christ's sakes. A lot of people found the race exciting due to the exploding tires. Should we criticize them too? I'd understand if people were hurt but in this case, really just please stop with the excessive political correctness.

It was very close with shreds of tyres almost hitting drivers. Even if not it is still bad taste to turn a serious situation into a bad joke.

Last years Spa, would "smashing start" have being okay?

A few tyres blew because of still unknown reasons and nobody got hurt or came even close to getting hurt.
