What I am praying for is like stepneygate in 2007, new information comes out and we find out to what extent Merc cheated and they get dqd from the constructors and WDC and slapped with a $100M fine

Only that will be justice ...

i know, right? and then set on fire in a public square. all of them.

Inverse is potentially just as damaging to Mercedes, because we do not know how much control they had over the Pirelli test in Spain, if any, and teams now might learn much more than Mercedes has first time around. As much as I did not like what Brackly has done from PR point of view, they do deserve benefit of doubt as Ferrari received over their test.

Because the Ferrari test hasn't been ruled to be illegal, while the Mercedes test has been. They have already been given the benefit of doubt while deciding their punishment.

Totto Wolff has said in an interview he is only OK with the test if the teams are not told what tyres they are using.

Moot point anyway, doesn't look like the test will be extended to 4 days

He shouldn't worry, his team has already helped Pirelli.

Now it is the turn of the other teams to do their share of helping Pirelli.

Everything will be fine.

New Pirelli test with new constructions and compounds. Mercedes can't go. Wait for the Hamilton toys to come out the pram. Spain 1013 might end up the most expensive tyre test ever.

Just goes to show, even most of the teams think it's not worth it.

Fernando Alonso ‏@alo_oficial 2m

Just to make it more clear; The test in silverstone is not a "test tyre". There are only one tyre, there is nothing to be decided. #Info

All he's saying is the team can get data on a single tyre from a test driver and he can't be bothered.

If it was a range of tyres and nobody else was going he'd be in like Flynn.

yeah beat me to it efm

also funny how testing with a 2013 car wasnt meant to be that impt to pirelli and yet suddenly its needed that ALL teams test the new construction

funny how the drivers are all going to boycott if events re occur yet no one kept off the kerbs and all pushed as hard as possible for the last laps of british gp despite the exact mechanism or cause of failure not yet clear at that point and many being warned officially by their teams.

f1 is getting complacent about genuine safety
