Does anyone on the forum have access to a programme for the 1954 Grosser Preis von Deutschland? There was a support race for sports and GT cars up to 1.5 litres named the Rheinland Pfalz Preis, in 3 classes, and which counted I believe towards the German Sports Car Championship for that year.

I am trying to identify a Porsche Special, race number 34 on the day. The usual reference sites have the full entry for the race, but do not provide race numbers for all the cars. I can only assume that the actual programme does. Many thanks.

From my records #34 was M. Hezemans.

Many thanks indeed. That makes sense - the car is Dutch registered. I wonder if he was related to Toine Hezemans?

I call it good sleuthing....

(Interestingly, Martin's site shows 27 starters, but only details of the fate of 25 cars. The puzzle car is one of the odd ones out. Unless a Dutch member has access to a history of the Hezemans family in the early years. )

… they were father and son.

Maybe they still are. I have not seen anything suggesting that Mathieu Hezemans, commonly known as Thieu Hezemans, is not alive anymore (although he was born way back in 1915 and would have turned 98 just recently).

Maybe it´s because I am living too much in the past...
