Can anyone tell me how to get the search system on this forum to search for something which is more than one word?
e.g. I wanted to find a post in the Nostalgia Forum about Roland King-Farlow, but just searched for "King-Farlow" getting 18 pages of results - because it seems than not only did it take "King" and "Farlow" as two separate words, but it searched for posts containing either, not both.
Most forum search systems I know have as a set of options "any of the words", "all of the words" and "exact phrase" and surely I cannot be the only member who wants to search for two-word (or more) phrases. My search above included answers which were the "King" in "King Cobra" (and probably the one in "Spencer King") either of which would be a legitimate search of TNF

It looks like you get better results if you use quotation marks (much like in Google). If you search for "King Farlow", you get this:

Thanks for that: the highlighting in your results shows it found both King and Farlow separately, whereas when I tried it no highlighting appeared at all.It looks like you get better results if you use quotation marks (much like in Google). If you search for "King Farlow", you get this:

That despite the URL of the link in your post including "highlite=King+Farlow"
Wonderful things these systems, aren't they.

When I first started using the Search function, many moons ago, there was a guide available showing useful words to insert into your search query to refine the results obtained. The one I remember and still use regularly is 'AND'. In this case, entering 'King AND Farlow' into the search box produces results similar to Grayson's in post 2.
The guide also explained about using inverted commas as recommended by Grayson, and also about other words to insert. Unfortunately I can't now find this guide - my recollection is that it used to appear automatically every time I used the Search function. I hoped it might still be available via the Help menu, but all I can find there is this:

Am I missing something somewhere, or has it been taken away? If so, it would be really useful if it could be reinstated, please.
