The Surfers event is idiotic. How does a track inspection committee pass the track as safe. It is not! And nor are most street circuits as by the nature of the land the drainage is wrong, there is no area for run off and because of the speed potential they have these rinky dink stupid chicanes that cause more accidents. Surfers is No 1 on the idiot list in Oz. A demo derby every year in all categories, followed closely by the Sydney event. And worse they race open wheel cars there too. But apart from FF not at Bathurst as it is too dangerous! Mt Panorama is a race track that doubles as a public road. Not public streets doubling as a racetrack.
As for kerbs only the face of them should be used. Driving over them entirely, or behind them should be a black flag, in any form of motorsport. Unless ofcourse avoiding another out of control car.
It seems that the rules at a club meeting are not enforced for the so called upper echolons of the sport. Makes sense, NOT !
