Hi Rupert, Thank you for the above advert, which is new to me. It is very interesting as it gives me a lot of information about the car.

It is the Olympic with the reg no 8500DT which was built and raced by Neville Hodkin. But the Olympic appears to be lost, as not heard of since the advert on January 1962.

I do have a record of the 3 events mentioned.

1961 Sept 17th. Drag/Sprint. Riccall Airfield. (Selby, North Yorkshire)

Class 5. Car no – 45. (Drv. N L Hodkin) Rochdale Olympic. 1st in class.

1961 Sept 30th. Oulton Park.

Event 3. 10 lap Scratch Race for Sports Cars up to 1000cc. (Reserve)

Car no – 84. (Drv. N L Hodkin) Rochdale Olympic. 994cc.

Event 5. 10 lap Scratch Race.

Car no – 84. (Drv. N L Hodkin) Rochdale Olympic. 994cc.

1961 Oct 15th. Olivers Mount Hill-Climb.

Car no – 72. (Drv. N L Hodkin) Rochdale Olympic 997cc. Class record 59.14

I also have a copy of Autosport 27th October 1961.

Class 5 was for sports cars up to 1066 c.c. and introduced the very pretty (and new to me) Rochdale Olympic

which was quick enough to take first place, timed at 59.14 secs, in the hands of N. L. Hodkin.
