From a track driving perspective...I am very curious if brake pad deposit can cause a rotor to warp? I understand, through experience, that pad deposit can occur and that the deposits in some cases will go away through normal street driving after a short period of time. But there have been occasions when the rotors have also warped and I wonder if the deposits cause hot spots to develop on rotors.
This question in regards to an M3 in particular...but I've experienced this in a few other cars with factory pads. Installing more aggressive pads cured each instance so this is really a question about the interaction of pad and rotor - steel rotors in all cases.

Simple, do a proper slow down lap to stabilise the brake temps. No deposits and no great hotspot where the pads rest on the rotor.
Cleaning the rotors up with emery helps too after. Something many do between races especially with carbon pads.

I'm pretty sure we had a very long thread on this with lots of screenshots of glowing rotors, and after a typically confusing start we got to some sort of conclusion.

I previously checked the thread about the mysterious black ring on racing rotors...very interesting read - long!
This is really about OEM pads run on a track. I am curious if there are materials common to OEM pads ( M3, AMG type cars) that act in unintended ways during track use...despite proper cool down etc...no emergency brake applied after sessions...
