Was watching highlights of Korea 2010 last night. Alonso was stunning in the last few laps having kept his inters in much better condition than everyone else. Emotions were great after that race - it felt like we were on our way to the championship.

Undoubtedly an unforgettable race. Not for how Alonso won. But for how well Seb raced, and then how well he reacted to his engine bust up, and finally how well he responded after even his most die hard fans had given up crest fallen. :)

I admire Alonso's on track skills and I don't admire that, in my opinion, he's either smart or not brave enough (or bit of both) to stay away from quality team mates.

Yeah, I think he's smart enough to realize that in a complex business like F1, a heavy right foot and a big mouth is not quite enough.

Bless him.

I know! He's clever enough to avoid strong team mates, a very thinking driver on the track and doesn't spout his mouth off too often. A damn shame that he's only won 2 WDC's then for one who understands the complex F1 circus so well.

For such a group of people so highly confident in their favourite driver, it is amazing how any article or quote that states that Alonso is the best driver of the current grid generates such a mayhem of vociferous complaints and attempts to devalue the author of such statement. :)

True, but we can say that about many people who claim they believe their driver is the best yet can't help but protest when another gets the accolades. I don't think it's a unique trait to just the Seb admirers, which no doubt you realise.

I'd rather say he's clever enough to make them look ordinary. :D

There's a lot of clever people in all areas in F1, but they can't all win, obviously. It's doubtless momentary frustrating, but I reckon if at the end of the day you made the best of every situation and maximized opportunities as they presented themselves, that's all you can ask for. I reckon Alonso is pretty good at maximizing whatever situation he finds himself in. If it's still not enough for the big prize, at least he can say he gave it his best shot. One can't really ask for more.

Okay, enough now, please - drifting into just discussing Alonso in general. Back to talking about the memorable wins of Alonso in more direct terms, please guys.

Sincerely though, it's good to see you positively passionate about a driver. Goes to show we're all the same really, no matter how much some of us would like to pretend otherwise. So, for a fan like you, of all his memorable wins which one was the best one for you? For me, one of his most positive wins was Imola 2005 against Schumi. A final lap attack and defence is always exciting and that was a good one.

Why would you do that?

Most memorable for me was not a win, but Hungary 2006. And his fastest lap in Q3 a year later at the same venue... ;)

Imola 2005, Valencia 2012. And the one that got away after some epic opening laps- Hungary 2006

Jehova, Jehova... :D

Yes, keeping with the Biblical theme, a true David vs Goliath

Why would you do that?

Oh I think we're ALL like that sometimes. Every one of us, no matter how much we'd ALL like to pretend otherwise.

Agree with you re. Hungary 2006, fantastic race. Oh yes, a year later as you say, who could ever forget 2007. A memorable year for all its trials and tribulations.
